planning for check out day?

Okay, my son arrived 2 days ago and is so excited about the College Program. He officially got his pass today and was going to be spending his afternoon at the parks. I am so jealous!!! Anyways, I know his official last day is May 15. How does your last day work? Do you work that day? And is there a long check out process? I want to make his flight reservations and i don't want to make them too early. Or should I make them the following day? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Many people will work the day before check out, some up to 1 or 2 am. He will have to have his stuff packed up and be out of his apartment by 11 on his check-out day.

I remember flying home the day I checked out ... my flight left in the afternoon, which gave me time to get out of my apartment and packed up. I remember having the day before off (I'm pretty sure that's required but maybe the PP seems to know people who worked that shift)...checking out is pretty easy ... you just have to pack up and drop off your key/ID at teh front security gate. Not long at all...

I would wait to buy his return ticket until later. In my experience many CPs who have a May check out day choose to extend their internships. Even if he doesn't extend he might want to stay in Orlando a couple of extra days after his CP ends. I would wait to see how it goes before purchasing the return ticket.

Check out day for me was pretty hectic. Mainly because my friends and I went out the night before and were up until five am and hadn't packed anything...lol. The previous poster was correct though, you have to be out of the apartments by 11am and the apartment must be clean (though I'm not sure that there is anything they could do if it wasn't).

You are usually scheduled to work the day before you check out unless you are an ICP (they need to have their final paychecks cashed) or if you get it pre-approved as a day off.

I got lucky on my last CP. I got the last 2 days of my CP off (my last shift was the 13th, and I checked out the 15th).
