Hello all!

I'm in the process of rescheduling our Disney World trip for next year.
Currently we are thinking of going 2/7/22 - 2/16/22. I've been looking at historical crowd calendars from 2019 and 2020 and I'm a little floored that the crowds were so high for a time period that I've read is supposed to be low crowds. There are no major holidays during this time and Easter is very late next year (April 17th) so I don't think spring break crowds should be a factor.

Have you gone during this time? Did it feel super crowded?
I'm starting to wonder if we should move our dates up to January, a week after New Years.

We want earlier dates because some people in our party do not do well with heat or otherwise we'd be going in September since we had a good experience in the past with that time period. BUT it was hot!

Many schools where I live (New England area) have winter breaks in February. We once went over my DS's winter break and it was fairly crowded though still enjoyable. Just be aware the weather can be iffy that time of year. It was so cold when we went, we ended up buying gloves in a gift shop.

Mardi Gras and President's Day were earlier in those years. Both bring a lot of families due to the kids having days off.

Mardi Gras is just as busy of a week as Easter is imo. If you're looking for dates I'd go late Feb or Early march depending on when Mardi Gras and Presidents day falls. I'd also check, marathons (in case they comeback in 2022).

A lot of schools in the Northeast are on vacation during the last two weeks of February.

Thank you all for your input - looks like Mardi Gras was 2/25 in 2020 and President's day was 2/17. *Edit to add* I'm also realizing that first weekend of Feb is superbowl, right?

Mardi Gras is 3/1 next year and President's day is 2/21. I may move us up a week to be cautious and avoid Superbowl crowds as well.

We went end of January into early February in 2019 and it was WAY colder than we anticipated. Our first full day was a torrential downpour - thankfully we had planned to do only DS that day.

Unless the Superbowl is being held in FL, there is minimal impact on crowds. We were at MK on Superbowl Sunday in 2019 and honestly the park seemed to clear out between 3 and 4. Our guess was people were getting ready to watch the game.
