Planning for 2013....who else?

We are trying to hold off until 2013... We are tossing around the idea of just taking the older two children and then returning in April 2014 for a big family/10th anniversary trip.

Not sure where we would want to stay for either. I was bummed to find out the Poly (what was my DREAM resort!) has no hot tub. :(

We are thinking October for Food and Wine. Both of the girls should be tall enough to ride everything.. and maybe they'll want to taste around too?

We <3'd Food and Wine this past year!

How soon can we make reservations/deposits?

I noticed your signature and you've been to WDW 3X this past year! That would be our dream come true :cloud9:

We too are most likely going to hold off until 2013 or 2014 for our next trip to have time to save $$ as we may possibly add in a day or two at Sea World; and we want our youngest child (who is 2.5 years old now) to be at least 40 inches tall so that we don't have to do the rider/baby swap more than once or twice during the whole trip. DH also wants us to be stroller free for our next trip  It is still a toss up as to what month we will go. It is tough for our two oldest kids to miss more than a couple days of school at a time because the make up work is a lot and the attendance policies are strict; so that restricts us to the summer again, the week before Easter or Christmas week :scared1: I also can't wait until next year so that we can book our trip and really start planning :woohoo:

In the 600's now! 699 days to go! :cool2: Just wish I knew if and what all will be open in Fantasyland!!!!

Me too. 2013 seems to be the year for the Fantasyland expansion to be mostly done so that keeps me motivated to wait rather than try to get a trip in this year  Just like you mentioned in your first post, we also want to use this year to get some home improvements done and other things we wouldn't be able to do if we did a WDW trip two years in a row. So while it is tempting to want to get back to WDW soon, I know the wait won't be too long (hopefully) :). Another reason we want to wait until 2013 is so that our youngest (who is almost 3) will be over 40 inches tall so that we won't have to do the baby/rider swap for our favorite rides. DH also wants us to be stroller free, we'll see ;)

I hear you! DH is being persuaded by a friend who is going in August this year, but I don't want to be there during construction!

We are planning for April 2013. I am also worried that they won't have some of the new Fantasyland done. I really want to see the little mermaid ride.

Us too. Our youngest is 38" right now at age3.5. She will be 5 if we can wait until 12/13, and surely over 40 by then...I'm hoping the wait wont be too bad. We had an 11 month break in our last two trips and believe it or not It felt like we had "just been there".... :confused3 Didn't make it any less wonderful though!!!!:cloud9:

YEah my DH has been throwing October of this year at me and as bad as I want to be there... we really should just wait until at least some of the new stuff opens......right? :confused3

We're taking the next two years off from Disney and are planning on going back sometime in 2013, when Fantasy Land is done. :)

This is what I'm planning as well (I speak for myself because I have yet to discuss with DH!).

We'd be looking more at the beginning of 2013.

We're planning for April ( after tax season, ugh) or May of 2013. Slowly starting the planning... I want to just plan it all, but then what would I do for a year and a half?

Glad I found you guys. We had such a good time when we went last Thanksgiving that I made my dh promise me we could go back in two years instead of our normal every 4 - 5 years. I came home and started a new countdown on my fridge - 104 weeks at that time. We're "down" to 97 weeks (as of tomorrow), lol, and I'm so excited. Glad to know I'm not the only one planning so far out ;)

OK my fellow 2013 folks..I may need you to talk me out of trying to get back to the World this year instead of waiting until 2013 like we have been planning  I have been toying with the idea of getting a trip in the week after Thanksgiving this year, but if we went at that time it would have to be a shorter trip (~6 days) so that our oldest children wouldn't miss more than a couple days of school. A lot of our favorite rides are being refurbished this year and the Fantasyland expansion will still be underway for the most part, which were some of the reasons we wanted to wait; but it is getting more and more difficult to hold out . We are considering a Sea World/Aquatica trip for the summer (DH's favorite theme park) to hold us, as we have been wanting to go there for awhile now and it would be too challenging to squeeze it in during a WDW trip. Decisions, decisions... :)

Well.....go this year and next year! :thumbsup2

Tentatively planning a trip for the summer of 2013. Trying to get my sister to come with us as she hasn't been for almost 20 years. So depending on when she can go with us is when we will go. Probably June or July.

Debating on whether to rent a vacation home or stay at a values resort. I'm leaning towards a Values resort as we may have enough credit card points to get 2 nights free.

DH, my 2 DS's, and myself went so many times that we decided to take one whole calendar year off of Disney (gasp!) and save for 2013 when most of the new Fantasyland expansion should be open.

Alright, so there might be less days left than origionally planned. We're thinking October2013 now instead of December. Although it would be DD's7 birthday 12/14- we are thinking October and MNNSHP and not going so close to Christmas (which is superbusy here) might be a better choice!!!:banana::banana:

Do I dare say it? :scared1: DS's varsity baseball team is planning a Spring Training '13 trip. I am going to try and make it a family trip again. even though it will be Spring Break and a little crazy! He will fly and stay with the team, so that leaves the rest of us (4 adults and dgd, who will be 2 1/2 yrs old at that time). I AM saving...so let's see how it goes!

I was in this exact boat. We last traveled to WDW in October 2010 and the MK construction was just beginning and I found it really depressing then. Now, after reading about further construction and other rehabs that will be underway in August of this year (Test Track :scared1:), we opted to put off our WDW trip for another year. So, I'm booked for 7 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel and we are going to do US/IOA (probably a 3 day hopper ticket) and a day at Discovery Cove and Aquatica. We did a Universal vacay 3 summers ago and LOVED it, so we are excited to go back. Good luck with your decision!
