Planning for 2013....who else?

We're going March 2013. Actually, it will be MY first trip to WDW, although I'm a DL vet... I'm already REALLY excited!!!!!!!!:yay:

Ugh. No way I would take that on. But, since you are, I say you set a deadline to have a "season" picked and then the same for the exact dates so that everyone can do their own transportation booking if you're not driving. Then I'd narrown down where to stay and tell everyone to book their own room. Then I'd pick park days and make the intinerary and dining plans, send it to everyone and if they don't like it, you can say, this is what my family is planning to do and you are free to come with or we'll meet you dinner. Sounds harsh, but that's A LOT of people to try to please!

Definitely appreciate the advice. I think I will set deadlines... it is a lot of people, and worse than that, they are not easy to please. Esp. MIL. :headache: Sis in law is pretty good, but she won't ever respond or decide anything, and my one nephew is obnoxious. Now I say this as a mom, person who has babysat since I was 11 and now does in home daycare - I've had contact with a lot of kids, and none of their behaviors hold a candle to his :scared1: Would it be wrong to not book our room (or not tell) until they've picked... I kind of want to stay at a different resort. ;)

Early June, 2013 is when we're all planning another hugh family gathering at Disney. Our last one was back in Christmas 2007. Then there was only one DGC, as of now there will be five DGC going, or by then maybe one or two more. We'll be back at Boardwalk again, and hopefully in our favorate GV #3037. I can't wait!!!!!!

So happy to see I am not the only one thinking ahead to 2013! Planning on early February & staying at AKV Kidani. Will be there with my family of four (DD 11 & 9) as well as my sister's family & our parents. My nephew & niece will be 4 & 2.5 so it will be fun to go with little ones again.

In July 2013, I plan to do something I have long wanted to do: a combo WDW/DCL trip. We are already booked on the cruise-a 4 night Bahamas trip. The Dream leaves on the 14th, so I'm thinking we'll fly down in the morning on the 12th and do the afternoon at a park that day, then a morning at a park on the 13th. The cruise returns on the 18th, so we'll probably do the afternoon of the 18th, and full days on the 19th and 20th, then come home on the 21st.

It's going to depend on what WDW is charging when their dates come out. I'm going to have a major increase already because in 2013, my dd turns 10 and my son turns 3. I imagine the completion of Fantasy Land will carry an increase in ticket prices as well.

We are also planning our first trip to DW in August of 2013.
Our daughters will be 5 and 9 that year, so I'm really looking forward to it! My older DD has been to DL but only for the day, back when she was 4.
We are starting to research resorts, etc but right now I'm liking the looks of POFQ. Hoping for the free dining plan to be in effect then too! :)

One question, since we're new to this, when do the prices/rates for 2013 come out?

Thanks!

Alison

I am in planning stages of Nov or Dec of 2013. I hope we can do it! I am missing WDW so much.

We've changed our minds for 2013 and now I'm thinking early December...between Pop Warner and DD's winter break. She'll be in 5th grade and it will probably be the last time I'll be willing to pull her out of school and my mom REALLY wants to see the holiday decorations so we might do a trip around that time :)

We are hoping to go back to WDW in 2013 as well. We had a magical trip this past August and are anxious to get back! Late August was a convenient time for us because we didn't have to pull our kids out of school and there was value season and free dining (although we switched to the kids stay/play free promo to save a couple hundred extra bucks since our kids were all 9 and under at the time :)); but we would love to experience WDW during the holiday season so we are contemplating a trip for the week after Thanksgiving for moderate crowd levels, so our kids don't have to miss more than a few days of school, and to hopefully get the free dining promo if it is offered again during that time. Is it too early for me to put up a ticker? I certainly miss having one

Does anyone know if free dinig is available for the campground? Not cabins thanks!!

From what I've read on the camping forum (visited that forum often when we were considering the cabins for our past trip), the camp sites don't qualify for the free dining offer but the cabins do, and the cabins usually get the DDP (1 TS meal & 1 QS meal a day) when free dining is offered.

I have my 2013 ticker already up. It's never too early!

You're right! It's never too early! I started planning our 2011 trip in 2009 and time flew and I still felt like there were some loose ends, but that was our first trip though and we learned a lot from that trip :).

I know I said before we were considering an after Thanksgiving trip, but now I'm not sure. That time of year is hectic for us, airline prices are sky high, and it always happens that at least half of our family is sick with colds, bronchitis, etc. that time of year :headache: I am leaning towards May 2013 now. The school year will be winding down, state testing will be over, and my kids usually have a day off somewhere in mid May for a teacher clerical day or something, so I am thinking it may be a good idea to plan a trip for that week to piggy back off of that day so that my kids don't have to miss more than three or four days of school. I would love to experience the holidays at WDW, but we like hot weather and enjoy spending time at the pool too. May seems like it is a nice month for hot weather, but not as humid as August. Hopefully we can get a week of free dining :). So mid May 2013 is looking pretty good right now

So anyone start their planning yet?? Can't wait for 2012 to get here so we can put deposits down on our trip!!!

Planning slowly. There's at least 13 of us going. My sister and her family have decided to stay off site and my family and my parents are staying at POFQ. Soon we'll start talking about where we want to eat. We figure we need a ton of time for this because we all have place we want to eat. It's my families 2nd trip and the first for everyone else.

We are planning for 1st week in december with 8 of us. Will they still be offering the grang gathering do you think?

Right now we are planning to either transfer in 2 RCI for 2 DVC or pulling a camper and renting a camper. What do ya'll think?
