Hi. I'm princess~yo and I am a compulsive list-maker. seriously. :goodvibes

In planning our upcoming trip (42 days to go -:woohoo: ) we have:
made our ADR's - no more than one a day - (and a BBB)

figured out from those which parks to hit which days with our PH (one in morn, a diff in eve)

scheduled a flexible 'downtime' every afternoon for naps or pool

made a list of favorite wannados for each park

made a note of which parts of which parks to hit each day (one afternoon MK is FL and TT, another is frontier and adventure, etc)

a very very detailed packing list

a questions to ask when we get there list

(I did NOT make a detailed 'we will ride this' list, although I have to admit I was tempted to!):rolleyes1

I don't expect any of this to be set in stone...I know that with 3 adults and two dds~ ALL with strong opinions we might be changing our priorities. I have no illusions that we won't decide halfway through to throw out this list and wing it.

is too much planning, or not enough? It's just in my nature to chart and list things... :confused3

Just wondering if any of you veterans planned this much the first time around, if it was worth it, or if I'm totally bananas to do this much prep.

:cool1: so excited!!! :cool1:

I ahve found it is much LESS stressful to wing it more or less. I was trying plan the days, and with little one screaming that they wanted to ride something else, I said no, we are in this area, lets finish here. Didn't work for us. We had grumpy kids. When we let them kind of decide which things they were more interested in things went much smoother.

I still plan this much!! :lmao:

I think it prefectly normal to plan like that. It gives you a guide to follow, and like you said it is not set in stone.

I think it depends on the personalities of the travelers. :) I just finished planning our trip (we leave in 15 days!  ) and I did everything you did PLUS did the "ride this now, get FP now, walk HERE" kind of info. on laminated notecards to carry with us. Okay, maybe a bit much, but it's my first time, it's our 5 yr. wedding anniversary, we've spent a TON of $$$$ and I want it to be fun. I am ready to deviate from the plans if needed, but I'm a TGM follower now, so I don't know if I will! :lmao: We don't have kids in the mix, so no grumpiness to content with (if DH starts getting grumpy I can always tell him to buck up!) :lmao:

Have fun planning! :goodvibes

I think you have to have a plan but also be flexible. My sister and I really planned our trip last July. We had 13 in our group(6 were Kids). WE did the note card thing everyday for every park. WE listed what rides to hit first and where to send our DH's to get FP's first. It really worked for us. Like I said use it as a guide. WE never waited in one line. It was really awesome!!!!
