When can we finally make reservations on the Disney site for January? Is there a way to make the reservations before that set date?

I think the 2018 packages will be available this summer, around June or July. Until then, you can call in, or have a TA call to book your Jan trip.

No way around it, you cannot book until the window opens. If you are staying on property you can book your entire trip on the first available day for your first nights stay rather than one day at a time, which is nice...

This is true for Fastpass+ selections, however I believe OP was asking about booking the trip.

You can rent DVC points and book January now.

You can call and book January now. You can book Resorts 499 days in advance on the telephone. You will be quoted the highest current price and it will be adjusted when the new rates are announced
