   hello,

we're planning our trip for Dec. 21-30, 2006.

do u think its too early to start planning???

we've only been there once before (this past summer), so how are the crowds during the month of December?

how is the World different in December as to July?

Anything will help!

thanks!!! :earsboy:

No it's never too early to start planning!!

The crowds will be huge then but don't let that scare you (I'll be there that time this year.) If you are well planned and research lots you will have an amazing trip.

 This is going to sound dumb, but
how exactly do u "PLAN" and "RESEARCH" this sort of suff? :confused3

This will be our second trip. On our first trip, we did NO PLANNING
what-so-ever. Despite this, I'm dying to know how people plan trips, since they're always commenting on what a great 'planned trip' they had. :earsboy:

Any Input would help!
THANKS!

They decide which resort to stay in, decide which restaurants to dine in, make their reservations, (ADR's) at those restaurants, plan which parks to visit on which days, make reservations for special tours, shows, etc. The plan needs to remain somewhat flexible, since actual park hours, EMH days and nights, and so forth, may not be known until a few months before the trip. With a good plan, you can be in good shape, even if the parks and restaurants are crowded! Have a great time on your next trip! :flower:

I did a TON of research on which parks were slowest on what days and planned my meals out and it worked good. Well except the day I got sick and then we extended our trip a day so we had to change it up a bit then! BTW, I'm already planning for next Sept. but I won't actually make reservations until Feb when I can pay the trip in full with my income tax money.

I hope not, I am starting to think about my New Year's trip for 2009 and here I am just about to leave for New Year's 2006.

The more you research and plan the more bang for your buck you can get at WDW because there is so much to do and see. When there are big crowds like at Christmas a good plan is even more necessary, in my opinion. I would buy a book like the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and keep checking out these boards and you'll be in good shape by Dec. 2006!

:wave2: any good sites for this type of research?? :confused3

You are on the BEST site for Disney planning and research. I would also check out www.allearsnet.com, www.mousesavers.com, and www.mouseplanet.com. Additionally, some of the resorts, such as the Polynesian and Coronado Springs, have fan sites that are invaluable when planning.

It certainly is not too early to plan and if you're like me, you will have a lot of fun with the planning. I would do some research, decide whether you want to handle all bookings yourself or work with a Disney specialist travel agent, and keep an eye on dates for when dining reservations and ticket sales for special activities (such as Cirque du Soleil) open up.

You should also become familiar with the discounts that are available and see if you qualify for them. I saved $400 on my September WDW trip simply by being a member of AAA.

Happy planning!

You also might consider subscribing to Tourguidemike.com for about $21. While he does not plan your particular trip, it is a great website for learning which days are best for which parks. You will need to spend some time there to learn about the wonderful info he has -- even with updates, the site takes a while to learn.

For me, I always go overboard and super-over plan any vacation down to minute details. BUT, once we get to the destination, the vacation plan is in flux and we go with the flow. Because we overplan, and know our trip inside and out, it is easy for us to change schedule on the fly without having to second guess ourselves.

Yes, it is weird - we overplan to be comfortably flexible :)

Overplan, but keep in mind that once you get there, nothing is set in stone - so enjoy and be flexible.

Oh yeah, another way to plan for your vacation -

1) Find a job with internet access.
2) Find a job with relaxed setting.
3) Find a job with no boss looking over your shoulder.
4) Spend several months during the working hours reading www.disboards.com.

Combine this with -

1) Find a spouse with internet access.
2) Find a spouse willing to do everything around the house.
3) Find a spouse who does not care that you're missing for several months.
4) Spend several months during the evening hours reading www.disboards.com.

Simple!

YMMV.

This website is great, Mousesavers, I like intercot too. and disneycentral.com

If you can't find the answer to a question ask here since I've found that sometimes these people know more than the books do! :-)
