Planning another magical 5th birthday

A few weeks ago we did our movie night for The Little Mermaid.
For dinner we had some Octopus hot dogs on Mac and cheese, sand pudding, blue "Ocean" kool aid, and oyster cookies.
First picture is pretty blurry...

Unfortunately The Little Mermaid DVD stopped working a few minutes in... and I couldn't get it working again. So we grabbed the Sofia the first DVD with Ariel in it and watched that instead.

The girls did sand art during the movie. Oh man. This was SO messy. There was sand everywhere by the time the night was over. But they had fun!

For our Finding Nemo movie night we had fish sticks (wrong on pretty much every level probably and they were so gross anyway.), some mac and cheese anenomes, goldfish crackers, swedish fish, school of fish ( the teacher was a graham cracker with frosting and he had a bunch of fish on his back) and water.

For the activity we played Finding Nemo Go Fish.

A while back we picked up the new Mickey Mouse DVD around the globe!
We were so excited to watch it for movie time.
I picked up some Mickey themed treats at the store, they did the passport activity that came in the DVD, and we had so much fun!

For our movie night last week we watched Aladdin.
We had chicken and pepper kabobs (I thought I had big kabob sticks but I didn't so they are mini toothpick kabobs :goodvibes), 3 different kinds of hummus with some flat bread, cous cous, Jafar's twisted fries, Genie in a bottle drinks, and decorate your own magic carpets for dessert.

The girls did sand art again. Because of the mess last time I got some little trays to use. This worked much better. This time they made charms.

Then Abi put together a little Lego set that looked Aladdin related (even though it isn't) and Maddy built a palace for Jasmine and Aladdin out of mega blocks.

This was a really fun movie night! The girls haven't watched Aladdin much and they were very into it.

Oooh so many fun movie nights! I LOVE the Little Mermaid oysters! So pretty! Boo to the movie stop working though!

I seriously need to do a themed dinner and movie night! Must start brain storming on it! Won't be till just before we leave though i think. Hmmmm :scratchin

So Many Movie Nights!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! They are all so adorable! You guys have been having fun! I love all the cute themed stuff you cooked up, good work!

that's so funny--my DH thought it was a good idea to let the girls do sand art in the kitchen a couple weeks ago. I told him it was an outside project but he didn't believe me.....there was sand everywhere! good idea on using the trays!

all your dinners/movie nights look awesome! I bet the girls are having a blast with all these special activities and meals!

Tons of FUN movie nights!!! my favorite was the Cookies with the pearl!

Love it all and of course your kids are ADORABLE!!!

Umm yeah.... NO SAND IN THE HOUSE.. I learned the hard way with that moon sand years ago..:thumbsup2

I have to say that after the news from yesterday it takes on a whole new meaning that we just watched Aladdin. So sad.

They have been so much fun! Thanks! It is something to look forward to every week for sure!

Thanks! Haha. Yes.
The second night of sand went much smoother. There was not much sand out of the trays but there was a little that escaped. Definitely not doing those again!

Thanks! I loved those cookies too. They were super easy as well. Just bought shortbread cookies that looked kind of like seashells, frosted them, stuck some silver sixlets in them, and put them together. Yummy.

So many fun movie nights you all have been having! I love all the themed foods and activities. So cool!

Thanks! We did another one a few days ago. I have been out of town with my oldest for the last two days so I hope to get that one up soon.

Subscribed! You have a beautiful family! I love the surprise factor, it just seems so awesome!! Looking back, I wish I wouldn't have told my kids about this trip! Maybe they will forget! :confused3:

I love that you are making the dresses! I plan on making several outfits for our trip.

I followed your link over to your trip report! I always love having new trips to read about!
And welcome!
I am really excited about the surprise. I think it will be so much fun to see how they react this time.
I REALLY need to get working on their dresses! I haven't even touched the fabric yet. I do have a few skirts to make too. I need to get busy!! Maybe after school starts for Abi next week I will have more time. I hope. :rotfl:

Our movie last week was Beauty and the Beast- my favorite!
We had a "french" picnic.

photo131.jpg

Chicken salad on a large baguette. Grapes. Sparkling cider. And Eclairs for dessert.

The girls painted a picture had Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle on it.
