To celebrate my retirement (still over a year away) my DH and I are advance planning for a trip to all three of the monorail resorts. We are hoping to stay in studios for three nights each at BLT, PVB and VGF. This will be our first trip staying in studios as our trips are usually for our whole family. To plan for our points, I'm figuring staying in Lake View studios in all three resorts. My question is, of these three resorts, is the Standard view just as nice? Or maybe I should ask is the Lake View not worth the extra points at any of these three resorts? I know I've read sometimes a "lake view" description is somewhat of a stretch in some rooms. Just wondering if any of the three resorts we would be just as happy with the Standard view (if available)?

Standard is standard for a reason, it depends on if you want a view and what view you want. If it were me, I would skip BLT and increase PVB and VGF stays, moving can be a distraction.

I think the lake view at PVB is absolutely worth the price. Request the third or second floor and you can see Wishes.

At BLT, lave view is nice, but standard can be pretty great. I don't think lake view is worth the extra price, but I'd pay it to be able to stay at BLT.

I've only stayed in a standard room at VGF. I can't imagine a lake view would have any decent view. You can't see fireworks from the DVC building, so it seems a little pointless to me.

Sounds like a fun trip, congratulation on the pending retirement. Have a wonderful trip!!!

Lake View at VGF is very peaceful, with a view of 7 Seas Lagoon, the Poly, and the Wedding Pavilion. It can have direct sunlight coming in at sunrise, which reduces the enjoyment in the morning.
The Standard Views at VGF will look out at the pool area and the main lobby of GF, which is a great view. But they can also look out at the Parking Lot, Spa, and Monorail, which is not bad.
So for VGF, standard view is fine, but if you are reserving at 7 months, LV is also fine and may be your only option.

For Poly, I would go for Lake View. It is a great view.

For BLT, I will leave to others.

AND Congratulations on your upcoming retirement!

I agree that Lake View at the Poly, second or third floor is stunning!

I have only had standard view at VGF, points for lake view are more then I care to pay.

I get either view at BLT, whichever is available. Only 1 time did I hate the view. Others would know what I was looking at, it looked like a warehouse. Stayed there maybe 10 times, only time I was disappointed, it was standard.

Personally I'd think twice about the PVB lakeview. What isn't being mentioned is that the 1st floor rooms are also lakeview and the main view is the bungalows. Everyone requests the higher floors because of this and someone has to get the lower floors. I've stayed LV once and we got 2 of the end LV first floor studios which meants the best views on the 1st floor but then because they are down by the Ferry it meant boat horns and the gardeners start there with their leaf blowers in the morning. My nephew and his wife had a LV room just a coupe of weeks ago and while they did get second floor my nephew was commenting again on the horns and the leaf blowers and sand rake equipment early in the morning.

BLT - yep, I'd do the lakeview for a special trip.

VGF - lakeview is nice but most standard views are also nice.
