Planning ahead

Normally don't plan too far ahead but I read here about people planning there trips a year out.

How do you find out prices and deals if I can't see past 2014.

My friends want to plan a trip for Feb 2015 and they asked for my help but I can't find any hotel info for 2015.

I believe dates for 2015 dont release until mid July or early August. We're waiting to book our January 2015 trip too
