Planning ahead for 2010 - great gift idea for girls

I was checking out some of Amazon's year-end jewelry deals and came across a set of 5 individual boxed pendants (10k gold, 5 different gemstone pendants) for about $100

There are at least 5 girls on my list - I'm seriously thinking of buying a set of these for next year's gift giving. I prefer to shop year round for gifts to spread the expense (and reduce the pain!)

There are also sets of earrings - same stones, 5 different cuts, individually boxed - could be used to complement the pendants.

Unless you know this is something they would really like, I think I would hold off. You didn't say how old the girls were, but I have a teenaged DD and a DDIL in her 20's and they really aren't their style.

I have 3 girls of my own - ages 12 to 18, and another 4 girls on the list ranging in age from 12 to 20. One of the 12 year olds is into gold and gemstones - I have never seen her wearing any of the usual preteen Claire's type stuff. Then there are at least 2 in their late teens who have said that they're tired of trendy jewelry.

I will take your advice and hold off...or maybe I'll just buy a set for myself!
