Hi All,

I am gearing up to book Disney trip number 3 this year lol!

I am thinking about going back to Paris over bonfire night, so a couple of quick questions for those that have spend bonfire night in DLP:

1)Does the Bonfire spectacular happen on 5th Nov? I was looking at old feeds and one seemed to suggest it was on the 4th in 2013...can anyone shed some light?

2)Do you need to book/pay for the bonfire and fireworks event or is it open to all?

3) Would you recommend?

Thanks

K.

the bonfire dates for 2014 are already published :) - they are 3rd, 5th and 7th november.

the bonfire spectacular takes place over lake disney, between the HNY and NBC hotels, its free to all.

I loved it, thought it was definitely worth going to see :goodvibes. Around 30 minutes of musically-synchronised fireworks, and lazer projections.

not always, but it is one of the dates this year.

Hi I am really curious as to why they have a bonfire night in Paris

My guess would be that it's because the British are only 2nd to the French in terms of visitors to DLP - I think the British make up about 14% of all visitors. This is a significant chunk, roughly double the attendance of any other single country other than France.

Back when it opened the British made up about 1/5 of all visitors. I also vaguely remember reading somewhere that the British are the biggest customers for Disney Hotels in Paris.

However DLP also celebrates st patricks day, chinese new year etc. so I think it tries to be universal in nature.

....oh yeah and because fireworks and big burning flames are kool, so who needs an excuse?!

It's always on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the first week of November.

This year they are, but that's not strictly true for past years. One year the last one was meant to be on a Sunday (7th November in 2010), and the weather was so bad, they moved it to Monday. I was lucky as we had booked for the first day of Christmas season and got to see the bonfire on Lake Disney and the start of Christmas. Was fab!

Highly recommend watching the fireworks, (though Dreams wasn't about then and it probably wouldn't have looked so spectacular to me with the lasers) as it involves said lasers, non Disney and Disney music, and the year I saw it, we had Sorcerer Mickey (first time I'd seen him in DLP and I nearly had a baby!) and the music from Fantasmic which made my eyes weep <3
