Planning a vacation & not getting excited?

Our last non-WDW vacation was awesome! We saw so much & it was so beautiful. And we met up with friends on & off along the way.

We have another non-WDW vacation coming up and I really should be more ahead in my planning than I am. I just can't get into it for some reason. We have 2 wks planned, but I'm really thinking of cutting some days off of it. Not due to money, just due to lack of interest I think.

If we weren't going to be meeting up with several friends for one important aspect of the trip, I might even consider not going at all sometimes.

I just figure since we traveled all that way, I might as well see lots of whats there, but some parts just aren't as beautiful as last trip & I feel a little let down before we even are there. Stupid, I know.

This ever happen to you?

I'm way to type-A to have that problem I think.:lmao: I'm already looking at things to do for my Germany/Austria/France trip in Sept 2011. Not really exactly what I am doing but the type of things I am doing and when I will be doing them.

I do a lot of 3 day weekend trips and while they are usually for a running event of some sort I usually wing those things more.

Can you meet up with your friends at another time another place. I wouldn't go on a trip if I'm not feeling it. I'd rather go somewhere where I know my heart is in it. I mean I'd rather go somewhere I can be excited about. If I can't change the plan, then I would just cut the trip short.

I might be in that boat too. We just decided we have enough $ to do a nice vacation this summer/fall and I can't get excited about it. I have been wanting to do an Alaskan cruise forever but now that I can I am just not excited about it. Any suggestion for an alternative in the Pacific NW?

BTW, I am just so over going to WDW. We did it last year and it was just so so. I need a change. I think we will save Disney for when we have grandchildren.

You are in the same boat. LOL We are going to Pacific Northwest, and some of the other friends are continuing on with an Alaskan Cruise. We are going for a convention geared around a hobby we all have. I'm excited about that part, and some of the major scenic places, but its the in between days I can't get in to. lol I'm hoping once we get with friends, that we'll just have a great time & it won't matter if we are doing or seeing anything great. That's what happened last time. The days we were with friends seeing local sites were some of the best days of the trip.

I understand the needing a break from WDW too. We go in phases where I feel I need to go every year for a few years, then I can take or leave it for 10 years. lol
