Hi everyone,

New to the board and first post so hi you all come highly recommended and I wondered if I may ask your advice I have loads of questions but will start with a few.
I have two boys one aged 4 1/2 will be five in feb and a baby who is currently about 4 1/2 mths old eldest is desperate to go to Disney paris and if I am honest I would love to go too. I was thinking of December this year to be specific 10th december this year but I want to go when all the hype for christmas is going on as we are a family who love christmas and I think the disney experience would just be magical.
So would we get to see christmas parades and such like if we went at this date and is my eldest too young to appreciate it or is he the right age?
The other thing is how to book are we better off booking seperate flights/accomodation or a package deal through a travel agent I know booking seperate would mean that we didn't get transfers to resort but how much would that cost anyway we would fly into paris charles de gaule airport then looking at staying at Santa FE hotel.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Poppy x

First of all welcome to the site, you'll find once you start planning your trip you can't get off here!
the time of year you are choosing is wonderful, and 10th dec is perfect for all the christmas fun and parades etc, as this all starts as early as nov 6th (after the bonfire celebrations). your eldest is a perfect age to enjoy it, especially the parades as they'll go past and alot of the characters will say hello and wave. my boyfriend's sister was 5 when she went and she absolutely LOVED every minute.
with regards to how you should book it, i've been many times and ive always found the best way to do it is book the hotel through the disney site (sometimes u can get some good one extra night free deals) and then go on the eurostar and easyjet (or other cheapy flight companies) you can usually manage to get a reeeally good deal on travel. ive always found that the best way. you also feel a bit more in control because you know what you're getting when you are paying for things (rather than hidden expenses or details in a package deal)
if you fly to paris then you can get the Disney Bus to your hotel (with a big wand on the side!). if you get eurostar it will take you straight to the gates of the park and disney village and then you can either walk (only 5 or 10 mins) or get on the free disney bus to ur hotel
hope this helps, sorry its an essay!

Hi Poppy and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

As others have said you have picked the most magical time to go to DLP. You'll have both Christmas and the 15th Celebrations.

It can vary to see what is best. All in package or booked seperately. How long were you thinking of going for?

christmas is a really lovely time to go - if cold!! however it will be cold here too and wouldn't you rather be in the most magical place in the world than brighty?!

4 and a half/5 is a brilliant age - old enough to take most of it in, but not so old that he is cynical about it! kids grow up so young these days, you really have to stop that cynicism crepping in.

obviously your little baby won't actually see/remember much, but it will be lovely having your two cherubs there :)

have you thought about maybe staying at the sequoia lodge instead? it is a little bit more expensive but the log fire, the pool, the sauna...it might make your trip even more magical!

just a suggestion - have no idea what the prices are like on or around the 10th.

as a few others have said - i've always found booking separately is the cheapest way to do it, usually through disney direct for the hotel and ryanair or air france for flights. don't really trust package deals myself, as cresta gave us a shoddy deal years ago...

anyway, relax, through your questions at us and enjoy trip planning!

Hi all,

Thanks for the quick replies and the warm welcome it is much appreciated.

The dates we want to travel are 10th December and fly home 13th December therefore staying three nights.
I have priced so far for flights newcastle to CDG airport £213.05 for all of us and stay at Santa Fe hotel HB on a three nights for price of 2 deal costing £358.
So in total £571.05 which I think is reasonably priced and tbh the look on my eldests face will be priceless.

Any one got any ideas how much it will cost us to get to hotel from the airport ?

Welcome to the DIS

As you got a little boy, would it be worth mentioning that you could stay at the Hotel Cheyenne for just an extra £26?!!!

Any one got any ideas how much it will cost us to get to hotel from the airport ?

If you use the VEA shuttle it would cost you 45 euros (in total) each way. This is an easy option if your flights are not to early or late. Otherwise a private shuttle/taxi would be about 80 euros each way.

totally agree - for an extra 25 quid you will all enjoy the hotel experience LOTS more!!

Hi Poppy, welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

I'd go for the Cheyenne too, the theming is great and your little boy will love it! :)
