Planning a Trip ... Need a Stroller ...

I just got back from BRU and saw a new stroller to confuse you a bit more. It's the Peg Perego Centro Completo. Very similar to the Pliko P3, but the fold is different (a little easier I think, but not umbrella style), the basket doesn't have that annoying crossbar and is spring loaded so you can move it up and down, the recline is flatter (and the seat seems longer so a taller child can nap in it) and the rear standing board is bigger. Other that that it has everything the P3 has. I think we decided on that one instead of the P3 cause the footboard was better for my daughter and it looks like she can nap in it better than the P3. Of course, she's 3 and you're talking about a newborn so those things won't matter as much, but I just thought I'd throw it out there for you.

ETA: The Centro Completo also comes with a cold weather boot and rain cover and the hood is reversible, so that and the full recline allow it to be a "carriage". We didn't really try out that part of it though so I can't say much about that but it would be nice for a baby if you're not using the car seat in it.

Thank you! I'm looking for some details on it now ... but I can't seem to find folded dimensions (or weight) for it anywhere.

EDIT: Just found them on http://www.pegperego.com/ ... it looks like they posted their 2007 Collection (Woohoo!) ... It looks like 18 lbs ... definitely larger than the P3 (at least in pictures) ... guess I'll be headed to BRU today.

We have been very happy with the Combi Travel strollers. They are bigger than a lot of other unbrella type strollers, yet they are comfortable, offer reclining options, and dold very compact with a shoulder strap for carrying.

SOmething that affects the prices of the Snugrides is the mechanism to tighten the straps. We have 2 of them, one was more expensive cause you just pull a strap in the crotch area to tighten the shoulder straps, and then push a metal piece and pull on the straps to loosen them. The other Snugride was cheaper and to loosen/tighten the straps you use the threading mechanism in the back. Honestly, I like the way the cheaper one works better as the other one always has slack on one side and is tight on the other. So look for things like that when the price is different. Also, a more expensive one might have more padding or something.

I learned that the models that end in (3) have the EPS Foam ...

It's really not much bigger than the P3, 2 lbs. in weight, and size when it's open is very comparable. Folded the Centro is bigger in width, but smaller in height.

I just bought the Macclaren Volo (from the suggestions I received from a thread I posted a while back). My DS just turned 3 and I have no problem using a stroller with him. He likes the stroller (we tried it out at our mall a couple of times). I got a good deal on it through the Target website. 93.00 delivered!!!

Looked at the quest and the triumph but I got the best deal on the volo. It only weighs 9lbs and holds up to 55 lbs.

On a side note, does anyone use a lock for their strollers at the parks? I have seen some posts that talk about people taking strollers. Is this a serious problem at the parks?

I have taken my Graco to Universal and Busch Gardens with no problem. (granted it's a little older and not as compact than the volo).

Just wanted to know as I am leaving in 2 days for the parks.

We have taken many strollers to the parks and never had a problem with theft (and never used any kind of lock). We took our Maclaren Techno and also our Combi I-thru, both of which cost a couple of hundred dollars, and never a problem.

Well we got our Peg Perego Centro this weekend and I LOVE it!!! Granted I have barely used it, but it seems perfect. The footrest still does the "up" position in its highest setting and there's this little mesh pouch that you can over the snack tray use to be sure the baby doesn't slip out. Plus, since the canopy is reversible, you can put the baby's head on that end and use it like a carriage with the baby facing you. It comes with a cold weather boot and zip on rain cover, both of which I love cause they're things I'd otherwise have to buy anyway. The basket is great and since it's the spring loaded kind (and the stroller folds differently) you don't have the crossbars that you have in the Pliko P3. And you can keep some stuff in the basket when you fold the stroller since it doesn't umbrella fold.

Now I'm off to find a bag for it so it doesn't get dirty when we gate check it for our cruise in a month!
