we've been to WDW several times, but haven't been back in awhile. thought we might try Carribean Beach Resort this time. we stayed at Dixie Lnadings a few years ago. how do the two compare?

Hi, we stayed at CBR in Sept 2003. It was our 1st trip to WDW. We were very pleased with our stay at CBR. The room easily accomodated my family of 4. Kids 3 and 8. Room was clean and housekeeping was great. The quiet pools were fine, however, I think the main pool could be a little larger for such a large resort. We didn't eat at the main food court. But, we did dine at Shutters their sit down rest. Food was okay. I can't compare the two resorts...but we will be going back to CBR June 2004. Hope this helps.

CBR is my favorite moderate. :earsgirl: The rooms are clean and large, the pool is nice, and the food court had a lot to offer. I also thought the bus transportation was excellent... better than POR.

I like POR much better than CBR...I will admit many people have good things to say about CBR but it is our least favorite resort. I found CBR to spread out...transportation lacking...often waiting for a bus...or they were full when they pulled up. The walk to the main pool and food courts can be REALLY LONG. The rooms were showing their age...I understand it has been remodelled so that point may no longer be vaild....POR/DL is my favorite moderate. CBR is actually the only resort my DH and I will never stay at again......And we seldom agree about anything!

We love CBR and if we were to stay in a moderate first choice would be there or CSR. Have stayed at POR and can't figure out why people love it so much. I would never stay there again. CBR is fantastic!!

I have stayed at both resorts. It all comes down to the theming. CBR is our favorite. You can't go wrong with either. If you would like more information please check out my links below.

We have stayed at both and would never return to CBR.

That aside, you said you had young teens. If you will be planning on doing much swimming/pool time, I think you will find the theme pool at CBR is for the younger set. The slide is about as minimal as you get. My 9 and 4 year olds were bored with it. It is also a smaller pool, so if that hotel has a decent crowd, the theme pool is packed. They do have recreational activities there too, we rented a boat.

Have you thought about the Coronado Springs Resort. Pool is bigger and the slide bigger than the other moderates. They could feel alittle more independent at this resort and I think you would feel like they are safe. I would not let my kids go too far if we were at CBR again.

We enjoyed our stay at Coronado and would go back!

Check out this individual's site http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/

It is a pretty good site and full of pictures.

The pool at CBR doesn't compare to CSR. But we prefer CBR. I don't like the mandatory 10% charge at the food court at CSR.

When my kids were teenagers they loved CBR. It is nice because the pool area and food court are very close together. At CSR they are further apart. They had plenty to do with the boats, bikes, arcade.
