where is the best place to stay? I have stayed at the Camelot inn and the Sheraton, but wondering where else is a good place to stay. 4 adults {my oldest is 18 and my mom} and 3 kids {11,6,5}....I would like to stay where we could have adjoining rooms and there is a great pool. So please give me your recommendations :) Planning to go Aug 26-Sept 1st.

many folks like Hojo here, there are 6 of us and we prefer Residence Inn maingate..the penthouse suite..hot breakfast and they will grocery shop for you and put the items away..

Jack how far is the residence inn from Disneyland? I have a feeling the 2 littest ones will not want to walk too far when the end of our day has arrived LOL!

It is about a 1/2 mile more or less depending on who you talk to. We have used it off and on since they were 4,5,7,8.

We are staying at Desert Inn & Suites with a group of 7 going in March. It's our first time staying there - reserved the suite that sleeps 10. 4 Queen beds, 2 bathrooms and a small "living" room with pull-out sofa - all with doors that close so small people can go to sleep while bigger people hang out and watch tv or play games or something.

They also have a fridge and a micro in the room and a small free breakfast. It seems like it will be enough space for us to all be comfy.

Hojo makes us family of 7 book two rooms! :scared1: Which gets really expensive! So I look for hotels that have suites. Just a thought. This is what we have found so far. :goodvibes
As a Mommy of 5 I second the DI&S! I found rates for them as low as $89 a night! There is also the Camelot Inn and Suites (also across the street) they were $199 a night. With a breakfast.I've also heard that Park Vue has a suite big enough for us and some kind of breakfast and light dinner! I like to stay across the street with this many kiddos walking back and forth!:rotfl:

ANother vote for Residence Inn. There is a lot of room and they have basketball court/tennis court available. There is also a playground for younger kids. The pool is open 24 hours and heated. They also have ART available by building 6 if the walking is too much. The beds are very comfy. We love staying there. LOVE the hot breakfast every morning, with a group of teens, we saved a ton of $$. Breakfast usually consists of scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with onions and ham, bacon/sausage/ham, french toast/pancakes, make it yourself waffles, hash browns, various breads/muffins/bagels, fruits, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, tortillas, cereals, hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice, milk, oatmeal, coffee, teas, etc...

Desert Inn and Suites has up to 10 suites. Basically, they are 2 parlor rooms connected. The rooms are older, but they are clean. The beds are uncomfortable, but after a long day at the park, sometimes it doesn't matter, as long as you have the right price. Breakfast is probably the worst on Harbor for the free breakfasts. You are allowed 1 car, not sure if parking is still free. Be cautious paying by debit card. Many people (including myself) have been "double billed" because they don't know how to release holds are debit cards.

Del Sol is a total no go in my book. We stayed there once, and will never go back. It was DIRTY, the carpet was wet, and you could hear conversations in the next room without anyone raising their voices!

Anaheim Plaza is older but decent for the price. You can usually get 4 queens/2 baths for $120-130.

My kids like Park Vue, but prefer Residence inn.

Fairfield has great beds, and you can get 2 connecting rooms, one king with a sofa and one 2 queens with a chair bed. Its my next choice after Residence inn.

Hmmmm do you remember what you pay a night for all of this? That does sound really good! Does the hotel have a shuttle, do you need to take ART or can you walk with 5 kids?(In your opinion)

we stayed at the Shearton {which I believe is by the Residence Inn} when my kids were 15 months, 7 and 13 and walking across the bridge was way too much walking for us and trying to drag a stroller onto the bus was even more of a pain....so for us, we definetely are going to stay a little closer for walking distance...thanks for all the input on the places so far!!!
