Have not stayed at this resort before. I understand it is spread out over a large area. We are interested in staying in a room that is somewhat close to the pool (the one the kids will like) as well as not being too far from the quick serve food. We do not mind walking a bit so it's not like we have to have both amenities right outside our door. Any suggestions for a room request would be greatly appreciated.

The Cabanas area is located between the main building (where most Coronado food venues are located) and the main pool. The Ranchos village is right behind the main pool, but you are going to do a longer walk to reach the main building. However, there's a quick service option (La Siesta) at the main pool, next to the bar, which serves breakfast items, appetizers, and entrees.

It is not as spread out as people make it sound. It is beautiful and the pool is great with a fast slide your kids will love. The best section for you would be the Cabanas. Request 8A and 8B to be near the pool and a short walk to the food court, and close to a bus stop. I am not sure when you are going, but they are refurbing rooms, so don't know if it will effect you. Ranchos are furthest back, so not ideal, but 7B is right off the pool, and still close to bus stop, and not too far from food court. Check the Coronado Springs thread on here to see the map and great pics to get you acclimated.

The main pool is not really a bad walk from anywhere because it's sort of in the middle. It is El Centro that is a really long walk from Ranchos. The Cabanas section will put you between the main pool and El Centro and is probably your best bet. CSR is actually smaller than POR and much smaller than CBR.

I would absolutely request area, not building, right now. There is refurb happening, and I do not feel you can count on a room assignor deciding "oh, 8A is closed, they'll be happy in 7B."

My best resort so far on my many trips. It's not huge if you come from a Big City. We've stayed in both Cabanas & Ranchos but walking the grounds is so peaceful we didn't mind the distance. I would advise you walk the grounds at night when it's all lite up!!!

As always you guys are the best! Thank you for all your suggestions I feel so much better about staying at this resort.:thanks:

I agree that you should head over to the CSR thread because those folks will be up to date on any refurbs that will impact your choice. I stayed in one of the "8's" and I found the location to be close enough to everything.

I also do not think that CSR is as large as sometimes is implied. It is not a compact resort as is POFQ, but is manageable. The bus service is excellent. The grounds are beautiful so any walk is lovely. And of course the pool. WE did not use it, but had coffee in the morning there as well as lunch one day. It was nice.

We like the Ranchos section (we stayed in 6A and 7B). We thought it was close enough to the pool area and it was so quiet! I also don't think the resort is spread out as some people make it seem to be. We really liked the short walk to the main building around the lake. We also enjoyed going to the quiet pool by 7B, it was empty!
