My husband and I got married almost 3 years ago, but when we got married we did it his way because I am 10 years older and already had a child so I didnt want anything big...just immediate family and friends. He however has a large family and wanted his entire family there. So we did the wedding he wanted, the whole time I was thinking to myself...why am I agreeing to this. Anyhow I carried on and went through the wedding he wanted. Of course if I was going to do most of it my way...Disney infused where ever I could...lol. AND a Disneymoon, I mean I wasn't going to let him have total control. :lmao:

However.....when we did get maried he promised me we could renew at our 5th anniversary to what I wanted....Of course I want a Disney wedding....just a really small intimate thing with just my hubby and son. so it looks like I need to start figuring out what I really want with a Disney wedding....what is the first step? I know its 2 years away, but I want to plan when I can as I am a travel agent, a mom, and a student so I am a BUSY woman...lol ....Thoughts?

First look online at disneyweddings.com they have all the venues and examples of cakes, lightinf, floral, table settings. Then when your a yr away you can call make a appt to do a walk thru of the venues you are interested i then they will send you all the info you need, youll go thru all the options at francks studio and sign your contract I am at the walk thru process

Since you can't really book anything at this point you can start narrowing your search down. You can review pictures and decide on a location, then you can decide if you want to do a dinner after and where you might want to have it. You can narrow down your search for a photographer and think about what kind of music you might want at the ceremony.

We started planning our VR about 2 years out too and my first step was to to decide what kind of feel I wanted for the whole event. We decided simple elegance was what we were going for and we added the details from there. The planning journals were a HUGE help in our planning process. These ladies here have some wonderful ideas!

Congratulations on your upcoming renewal!!! Welcome to the boards and have fun planning - I had a ball planning our recent VR.
Like you, we were still about two years out when I started my planning. We live in the UK and we needed to make plans quite early on so that our guests could plan and save.
I should start, as my good friend Jilian says, by making some decisions on things like, how many guests, location of ceremony, where to have the reception or reception meal etc.
The main thing, I guess, to decide early on, is how big the whole event will be. If it is a big do, you would have to have a 'Wishes' wedding, (if you plan to go through DFTW). For a smaller VR, you could utilize the 'Escape' package through DFTW. There is an even smaller package, available at the moment, through DFTW, called 'Memories', but it is currently uncertain whether this will continue past next spring.
I recommend that you look into a Swan and Dolphin event as well. These are much more flexible and cheaper than packages through DFTW and you can have almost exactly the same enhancements as you can by going through Disney.
As Jilian says, check out TRs and PJs of other brides - they will be extremely helpful!!
Feel free to check out my PJ/TR (which is a bit of a work in progress re the TR bit, but getting there). The link is in my signature. Feel free to ask if you need any help with anything. I am always happy to help other brides out (particularly renewing brides)
Good luck and we will all be looking forward to hearing all about your plans!!

Thanks ladies for all of them help....I won't be able to start really researching except for the weekends so my posts may be few and in between for now....I'm just so excited to get the go ahead....now to decide which park to go with...DL or WDW.....hmmmmmm....
