planning a park-less trip! Golf?

We're planning a visit to see our darling dcp cm this December. Dh is "done" with the parks and I'm planning on a golf day. Anyone golfed any of the wdw courses? I'm curious if there's a big difference. Any suggestions or tips would be great! (Mod feel free to move this I couldn't figure out a better place to ask this!)

DH enjoys both Magnolia and Palm. We may play together on our next trip - we haven't decided if we want to lug the clubs down or not. WDW has a golf website that has some more information on it (http://www.wdwgolf.com/). Mini golf is also fun - DH claims that Fantasia Gardens is more difficult than an actual golf course

My teenage son golfs daily while at WDW. Although he's played all of the courses Lake Buena vista is his favorite. If you book a tee time in the am most likely you will be paired with a group of 4. My DS prefers to play solo in the afternoons. Don't rule out Oak trail, its a walking course but my DS thinks it is the most challenging. Have fun!!

there's also Tranquilo at the FS, he may enjoy that too.....and just some good times at the hotel....

I have heard the Palm is very challenging course , he might find he really enjoys.

You can always rent some clubs there....not quite the same but if you decide while there, it's at least an option.

We also are going in Dec. to see our DCP CM. Hubby plans to use some of the 17 "Pluses" he has left on various tickets for the Oak Trail course. It's 9 holes and a walking course. He's played it before and had fun.

Thanks for the input. I'm a beginner golfer would the palm and magnolia just be too hard?

I've played at 2 of the 3 WDW courses (also played at the old Ospry Ridge and Eagle Pines courses but they don't exist any more). The one I haven't played (yet) is Lake Buena Vista.

Found that the Magnolia is just right for me. The Palm is just as difficult/interesting, but has more water hazards that happen to be my downfall. Bring plenty of ammunition if you play the Palm.

DH has golfed every WDW course multiple times. He agrees about the Palm having lots of water. People seem to have mixed feelings about LBV these days. Since it's surrounded by the buildings of OKW and SSR, some people see the fairways as tight. Also, lots of buildings bring noise. However, if you live in a golf course community or golf at a golf course there, you should be OK. Every time we go to WDW, DH golfs in the morning and we meet for lunch. When there were 5 courses, he saw WDW as a golf resort with theme parks there to keep the non-golfers entertained.
