Hey everyone,
Does anybody have any insight and tips into planning a family reunion at Disney World. I am pretty experienced with Disney but have never planned a trip with more than 4 people. We thought about renting points to stay in a villa since there will be about 12 of us. Im not sure though if it would be better to set up a vacation package though and take advantage of the Grandgathering stuff. That way some of us could use the dining plan and other perks that come with the vacation package. Thanks in advance for any info.

If you decide on booking a DVC villa that sleeps 12, you'll need a Grand Villa and a member who owns at the resort you want to stay at. They will need to make your reservation at 11 months out to make sure you get what you need. They may require most of the payment up front (usually at least half, but some members require full payment). And if you have family members back out at the last minute, the member will probably not allow any cancellations or refunds.

So collect money from all the family members just to make the reservation and let them know there will be no refunds.

Even with DVC, you can do Grand Gatherings. But if you get a villa for twelve and want to do the dining plan, everyone will have to have the dining plan for the entire length of stay.
