Hi All...

I'm planning a honeymoon in August for a DH to be who is very keen but has never been. We're coming up to 180 days...I'm wondering if you all have some suggestions for things to do.

Here's what I have so far...

We're getting married on a Saturday and flying down Sunday morning, staying at the Poly in Concierge. I've not booked the dining plan and I'm hoping to do a few special meals...character or romantic, and also open to some other special plans...maybe a tour?

Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions or fun things that they did... or links to trip reports. I had a look at some of the trip reports but am still working my way through.

Thanks so much!!! :lovestruc

For the honeymoon portion of our trip I'm planning:
- Segway tour around Epcot, and keys to the kingdom tour
- Dinner at the California Grill/the Poly restaurants/maybe V&A if the budget will stretch
- Character meal maybe Chef Mickey or Tusker House
- Discovery cove - i know this isn't disney but it's a dream of ours :)
- Parasailing on the seven seas lagoon

There is a boatload of things to do :)

You could always invest in a book if that would make your planning easier - passporters guide to weddings and honeymoons is a great investment :)

Thanks! I was thinking of some of those things.

Have any of the tours in particular been fantastic or 'to avoid' for anyone? I was thinking of doing the all day Magic Kingdom one. :)

Thanks all!!! :hippie:

I would suggest organising a few meals at the World Showcase. Most Disney Newbies seem to warm to Epcot before the other "more Disney" parks.

Thanks! I think that's a great idea. Maybe I'll try for Illuminations from the Rose and Crown. :)

I was in the exact same situation you are in! We just got back from our honeymoon a week ago. This was my 8th time to Disney, but my husband had never been (but grew up with a huge love for Disney.)

These were some of the things we did. We were there for 10 days as to jam pack a whole bunch of extras in.

Horse and carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside, this is where we stayed also.
Mini golfing at Fantasia Gardens
Many character meals including Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table
Saw La Nouba in Downtown Disney
Keys to the Kingdom Tour
Steam Train Tour
Rented a two person speed boat from the Contemporary for a half hour.

It all depends on what the two of you like, but my hubby LOVED EVERYTHING! He is already talking about when we can go back! Good luck on your planning!

Everything everyone has mentioned sounds great.

We have done the Epcot Setway tour twice and loved it. Especially if your new DH is not familar with Disney, it is so cool to be in the park, riding around, before the park opens. We have also done the Offroad Segway tour, this one starts at Fort Wilderness and you ride around there and then take some back trails over to the Wilderness Lodge and then back again. Both tours were great.

I have always wanted to do the carriage ride at POFQ so that would something great to add.

Since you are staying at The Poly, why not try the Luau, and definately get dinner at 'Ohana. This is a very difficut dinner to get so try as soon as your 180 day window opens. We have never done their breakfast but we love their dinner.

Have a wonderful honeymoon.

Linda

THanks for all the ideas!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I have booked La Nouba (or concierge will be booking it as soon as possible), dinner at Ohana and I think Coral Reef as well. We're going to do the Behind the Magic tour - i think that will give D soon to be H a nice overview of the parks. I'm already trying to get him to read the unofficial guide... ;)

(and I did ask for an illuminations ressie for the rose and crown.) :)

Thanks again. :hippie:
