Planning a Disney Wedding - couple of questions

I wondered if someone could help me with a couple of questions.

I'm a little confused with the Disney Weddings site. We will probably go for the Intimate wedding but there are very few Q & A's on it. I saw on their site that there is a minimum expenditure - is that for any Disney wedding? Does it apply to the Intimate?

It also states that you need a marriage license from the courthouse and only have to provide proof of ID ie birth certificate. Does that also apply for people from the UK? Would we need anything else like divorce papers?

Also, do the people attending need to stay at a Disney resort or is it just us two?

Thanks for your help, I'm sure we'll have more questions!

Hi!

The Intimate/Escape wedding package has no minimum expenditure because it is a set price: $3,000 for outdoor ceremony locations and $4,000 for the Wedding Pavillion (these each increase by $1,000 in January 08). In one sense, that price is your "minimum" because you can add on all sorts of other options at an additional cost. This link shows what's included for the base price (in 2008 it will include two Annual Passes):

You only need to guarantee 4 nights, and most couples just reserve 4 nights for themselves. Escape wedding guests do not have to stay at Disney resorts. If you're worried about having to stay 4 nights on-property, maybe Disney would let you split it with someone else attending your wedding who's also staying onsite. I've never heard of this, so let us know how it goes!

This may answer your marriage license question:

Hi Lurkyloo! Thank you for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. I saw somewhere on the Disney site that the minimum expenditure was $10,000 and panicked!

Many thanks, Karen.

I'm in the uk planning our disney wedding for next sept!! We are having a custom with about 30 guests!!

Good Luck with your planning

Thanks Sarah, good luck and congratulations!

I don;t even know 30 people, let alone invite them to a Disney wedding! I'm sure you'll have a great time x

hiya
welcome to the boards.when i went to go get my marriage license, they needed my passport, i got told i would need borth certificate too but they never asked for it, but you may as well take it to make sure. if you have been married before you will need to provide proof that youve divorced (ie divorce papers).
hope that helps.
if youve got any other questions, id be happy to help, feel free to pm a fellow UK bride.
