We have been to Disney many times, but not lately. DD when asked what she wanted to do for her “Sweet 16” she replied Disney at her favorite resort - Poly.
I have Poly with 7 day tix booked but would love ideas for getting a cake and for special surprises ? Would love so birthday trip ideas?

If tea is open at GF I’d do that. Maybe some time at the spa? There are several on property. I’m sure you can order a cake from somewhere, but I’ve never done it so maybe someone else will give information about that.

If you wanted to really splurge you could do a VIP tour. There are less expensive tours that are great too.

Ear for Each Other is a Facebook group of CM's that have been displaced from their employment at DW. You will absolutely find some very enchanting services. Cakes, meal boxes, princess makeovers for people of all ages, Disney Henna, and more...it's an amazing page, honestly!! There are tons of reviews for each service :)

You could book a tour....maybe Behind the Seeds?

Plan a day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach and rent a cabana.

Have a special "Sweet 16" T-shirt and Ears made for her to wear. She will get birthday wishes from CMs and guests all day :lovestruc

If flying in to MCO, hire a limo for the pick-up and drop-off.

Try to book a Capture Your Moments photo session for her. Our 17you did one at MK last week and we got some amazing photos from it. Most girls are all about the photos so I would vote for that. They have props or you can bring your own. We did not use any, but our DD did wear her new ears in some of the shots.

I like any of these!

I would love to do this at MK but have read it’s hard to book, any tips? Alsodo you get all the pics if you purchase the Memory Maker pkg?
Thanks for your help!

I really like all the options given, I don’t think you can go wrong. If your daughter hasn’t been ride, she might really enjoy that!

Yes, you will get all of the pics on your Memory Maker. I think we had 77 photos. I used a third party to get the reservation. If you PM me I will happily share more.

Happy Sweet 16! :bday: My DD is also celebrating her Sweet 16 this year & also asked to stay at the Poly!

So far I ordered her a birthday sash on Etsy - Disney font with Tinker Bell which we gave to her on her birthday with a new pair of ears she wanted. I will be ordering a Sweet 16 T-shirt as well (we did this when she was 13 & she received so many birthday wishes from CM & guests). Etsy has some great ideas, if she likes ears - there are some you can customize with Sweet 16 written on the ears itself.

As a special event, when we are able to, I hope to book Keys to the Kingdom tour. She has been wanting to do this tour for a long time. Is there a tour she is interested in or maybe a Fireworks Dessert Party? Or a specific restaurant she has been wanting to try?

We will also, when able to, try to book the Capture the Moment Photo Shoot for MK. We booked it last year right at the 60 day mark (for her postponed 8th grade graduation celebration). The photographer was EXCELLENT! He took over 70 photos (all downloaded onto our pre-purchased memory maker). He really got some amazing shots. Some with her graduation ears, others with regular ears. We also did this at AK (and by chance had the same photographer) & those photos were perfect, some on paths around the tree of life, so no one was around. I highly recommend this if you are able to book the reservation.

When she turned 13 we ordered a cake, which was very easy. (This year she requested no cake-she wants Dole Whips every night...lol)

Have fun planning your surprises! :cake:

We will be celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday at WDW this year, and I am hoping to book Capture the Moment and order her a cake. May I ask where you ordered the cake? Also, for Capture the Moment, did you end up preferring the shots in MK or the shots in AK? I am really torn on where to book. My daughter loves Epcot, so I'm considering it as well.

I agree 10000% with this! I LOVE looking at al the posts of special things to buy or order for delivery. I've met some amazing cast members who offered awesome customer service. From earrings, to full meals, to cakes/treats, to fuel rod holders - I have purchased all kinds of things.

I ordered the cake in 2019, had it delivered to Storybook Dining at Wilderness Lodge (which we were staying at so any extra cake were put in the fridge & enjoyed during our stay). There is a Thread on the Dining section - specifically for ordering cakes - that is extremely helpful when ordering cakes. Official Disney Cake Chatter (hope I added the link correctly...lol)

Even though both locations were wonderful & AK captured different locations around the Tree of Life, I loved the MK photos more. The ones in the ally - not many people would think to stop there to take pictures. And, to our surprise, the 50th medallion was placed on the Castle the night before our photo shoot, so DD was able to get really nice pics in the archway with the 50th above her. For this summer, I agree with you that I am torn about where to take the photos.

Capture Your Moment opens at 60 days + length of your resort stay. Since you're staying on site, you should be able to book it. They say it opens at midnight now? I'd be prepared for that and for the booking to change. If they change the rules, you might miss out.

anyone have tips for joining ear to ear? I have tried twice and Im stuck on pending. I also celebrating my daughters sweet 16 next week.
