We're planning a trip to WDW to see the Christmas decorations next year. We're looking at the week before Thanksgiving (11/12 - 11/20) or 12/13 - 12/21). We are most interested in seeing the Orbourne lights and the MK decorations. I understand that the resorts are not guaranteed to be decorated until after Thanksgiving but hear that they start decorating the resorts in mid-Nov. Are the Osbourne lights always up by mid-November?

When in December do the crowds start to get bad? I'm guessing that the crowds will start to get crazy around 12/17. If the crowds start to be crazy on 12/17, I think we'll try to go in November and take our chances on having our resort decorated while we're there.

We own at VWL and BCV and plan to stay at one of these resorts. Does anyone know when these resorts are typically decorated for the holidays?

Thanks in advance to you WDW holiday season experts for offering your insights!

In order not to miss anything go in December. In my experience crowds do not get "crazy" until the 23rd.
Either resort is decorated, but my personal favorite is Wilderness Lodge. All resorts have their own theme so it nice to visit different resorts.
We start one day with breakfast at WL then visit the Monorail resorts. The GF is a must to see the Gingerbread house.
Another day is spent visiting the Epcot resorts. If you love chocolate you will love the Beach Club. A short visit to the Dolphin to see a ponseittia tree that is absolutely gorgeous.
Breakfast at Boma gets you a chance to visit AK lodge.
Christmas events not to miss: CP, Osbourn lights, and Christmas parade at MK.:dance3:

Yes

I find that come Christmas day,it's time to get away from WDW but before the 25'th I find the crowds quite manaable.

I would suggest WL if you love the feel of Christmas.

We will be at the BCV in a few weeks from 11-8 to 11-13. The Osbourne lights will be starting on Nov 8 as well as MVMCP. We are hoping this will be the perfect week as the F&W will still be going on and we will also get to see some of the Christmas decorations. I know everything won't be decorated but we will go to the Christmas party and that's good for me.

:thumbsup2Hello to all , I have spent 3 chirstmas's at disney and I think the GF and the wl have the best xmas decorations

I'm glad to see that I'm not crazy! I thought I was nuts even thinking about next Chrismas but I guess when you plan in advance and check out the DIS, you can't be crazy, just prepared :goodvibes :santa:
