For those who had an intimate ceremony, did you buy your planners a gift or do anything for them? I know that is customary for at home weddings, but I wasn't sure if they could accept gifts or not? Just wondering........mine has been so amazing, I feel like I should show my appreciation somehow....... :thumbsup2

Wow - that's a great question! I'd be interested in hearing more about it! I wonder if I should get my planner a gift for a custom wedding???

I was a custom, when we got home, i sent her a huge tower from Harry & David's... It was the least I could do, she really was fantastic!

We had an intimate wedding, and our planner was Lynn McKitrick. She was so amazing that, when we returned home, we sent her a gift basket.
Cheers!

Good to know! I will most definately be doing something for her then!! She is just so wonderful!! :thumbsup2

they have a cap on gifts to planners at disney of $75. i wasnt overly impressed with my planner so i didnt give her a gift. i did give tips to some other vendors & disney though that did a great job. i also wrote a letter to dftw on my wedding experience & how i think its such a great option for couples.

I LOVED my planner and sent him a small gift card when I got home. I also sent him tealights to replace the ones that he got for me when we realized I had forgot to bring them for my centerpieces. He was so great. I was careful about tipping at my wedding. I really felt my banquet manager was awful and I did not tip him...I gave an extra tip instead to my favorite waiter. I diminished my tip for the bartender because he made up his own special drink and I tipped the girl that had helped out my coordinator because she was fabulous. There are no requirements...

My EM accepted $80 cash from us. Apparently I hear they are not supposed to accept $$, but she did.
I didn't particularly want to tip because our planning never ran smoothly, however, I didn't want a 'bad feeling' afterwards, so we did it.

Our planner was Tanis Armstrong and she was amazing, so we knew we wanted to get her something. During one of our phone calls she asked where I lived and if it was in wine country. So when I told her that I work at a winery she started to tell me about an Icewine from a particularly big winery in Niagara that she had tasted before. Well, little did she know, but my godfather is the cellar master at that winery and he was able to get me a bottle of Reserve, Limited Edition Icewine for Tanis. She was so cute with it. I gave it to her right when we got the the ceremony and she went everywhere with it. She only put it down if she would be nearby, but she definitely wanted to make sure she didn't lose it.
Tipping is definitely not necessary, but it is something you should personally decide on based on the quality of service that you received.
