hi all
i've narrowed down all those wonderfull eating choices;)
these are where we are hopefully going to go
chef mickeys for dinner, park fair or crystal palace for breakfast
and we still need to pick somewhere for lunch, could you give your veiws on these places i know i'll get lots of opinons but any would be gratefull good or bad:D also is it possible to help me choose a place for lunch
i should say there is me dh and 2ds,would buffets be better for us as i'm quite a pickey eater and so is my youngest son and also could i pay the adult price but eat from the kids menu, all your help is very much appreicated:D
thanks eve

Which park/resort do you want to eat your character lunch in? You could always do Crystal Palace for lunch. Or, if you are going to be in EPCOT, I would suggest Garden Grill. We ate tehre on our last trip and the food was wonderful and since we ate early (like 11:30) we had lots of time with the characters. I think the options for character lunches are limited.

hi mommy poppins
we are not to bothered which parks we eat lunch in,i'm now thinking of doing chef mickeys for breakfast for the morning after we arrive(b/c time differance we will be up early)maybe about 7.30 or 8a.m and then try to be at mk for when it opens, does park fair do a character lunch or dinner?
there are just so many to choose from, when i first posted i thought i had it all worked out now i'm not sure again:rolleyes: i was just trying to plan to do a breakfast, lunch and dinner
looks like i'm now back to trying to decide

thanks for that link will check that out

Don't think Park Fare has a character lunch. If those are the restaurants you have your heart set on, you could do Chef Mickey's for breakfast, Crystal Palace (MK) for lunch and then Park Fare for dinner.

You're not planning on doing these all the same day are you? LOL - that would be a lot of food as these are all buffets.

hi mommy poppins
no we are spreading these out over the 2 weeks we are there
we are on a bit of a budget so we thought we would do 3 e.g breakfast lunch and dinner and then maybe snacking at the counter service the rest of the time
i was also planning on doing beaches and cream for a quick snack and sci-fi for a desert to get out of the heat for a while and a quick rest(going june)
i like the idea of breakfast at mickeys and lunch at cp so you have helped me make my mind up :D have you any suggestions for dinner it dosen't have to be a character meal(i suppose there will be lots of different suggestions)thank you so much for your help

Forgot to answer your earlier question - yes, you can pay the adult price and eat off of both the adult and kids' buffets. Same goes for the kids, they are welcome to eat anything on either buffet.

We are going to WDW in December. We are traveling with 3 kids (DD -7, DS-turning 5 on trip and DS-19months) and also traveling with my in-laws. They tend to prefer one sitdown meal per day. These are the restaurants on my list: (* = must)

*1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian) - character dinner - my b-day
*Pizza Planet (MGM) - lunch
*Cinderella's Royal Table (MK) - character breakfast
*Whispering Canyon (Wilderness Lodge) - dinner (supposed to be fun for kids and great food)
Crystal Palace (MK) - character dinner
Teppenyaki (EPCOT) - lunch
Garden Grill (EPCOT) - character lunch
*Liberty Tree Tavern (MK) - character dinner for DS's 5th birthday
*Beach Club (boardwalk) - dinner
*O'Hana's - character breakfast for DS birthday
*O'Hana's - dinner (coconut races/hoola hoops for kids)

My kids tend to prefer buffets as they are more instant gratification. They don't like to wait for their food!! LOL

If you like seafood, i would definitely suggest the Beach Club Clambake. There are all kinds of wonderful seafood, prime rib, kids' buffet and yummy deserts.

I have never eaten dinner at O'Hana's, but have read wonderful things about it so it is a must try for us this time.

My son is a Toy Story freak so that is why we have to eat at Pizza Planet at MGM.

Any more questions, just ask.

hi mommy poppins
have you eaten at whispering canyon and o'hana's before? i have been looking at the menu, still not sure about doing these two, my kids are quite shy,can we sit and watch or are you dragged into the action(my boys might like to just watch for a while at first)they may join in after
my son also loves toy story but dosen't like pizza i'm sure he just had fries there the last time,do they still sell fries there
also could you tell me what are chaicken strips?are they like the chicken nuggets that are in breadcrumbs(similar to macdonalds)so many questions i know but i'm just trying to plan ahead he is such a pickey eater,my eldest son eats anything and everything
thank you for your help

I don't see fries on the Pizza Planet menu. They do have salads. If you really want to eat there, you could grab something for your one son at another counter service and then go to Pizza Planet and order for the rest of your family. The above link to menus is missing a letter, try this one:

I have not eaten at Whispering Canyon or dinner at O'Hanas. I'm sure that the waiter would recognize that your kids are shy and may not involve them in the action unless they showed some interest. From what I have read about O'Hana's, the kids can get up and participate if they want, but they can also just sit and watch the coconut races and hoola hoop contests. I would assume that the same thing happens at Whispering Canyon with the pony races. If they want to, they can participate or they can just watch.
