Planing for Dec 2010

Ok folks we don't need to let this thread die. I really would like to keep in touch with folks who are going in Dec of 2010. I have already bought the unofficial guide for 2010. In a week or so I will start reading it and making notes. Also, I need to get DH to read about restaurants for his input. We know we want to do Bier garten this time, but not sure what else. I would start reading it now but I am in the middle of two other books, and not wanting to do three.

I am, you are not alone! We will be doing DXDDP and I love to plan so I always plan the restaurants first. I keep up on the food picture thread and make notes for my next trip. Should be fun!

I see most people on DIS are smart/lucky enough to be traveling prior to the highest rate weeks right before/at/after Christmas, but due to school and work schedules, we will have to travel the week of Christmas, the 2cnd highest week other than the week after.

Is there ANY chance of a promotion for that week? I know I have not seen one for this year?

Also, what is the advantage of only reserving the room and not park/dining?

We just did a DCL cruise (1st time) and now planning WDW (1st time) also. WDW is SO much more complex to plan!

We are going to take our dd out of school for our trip next year. She will be in 2nd grade and we are willing to help her catch up. We want to go one time at Christmas time and figured it was easier to take the kids at a younger age. Once both are in school it won't be as easy.

I come too this section of the Disboards every day to see if anybody else is as planning obsessed as I am! And I have already made out my plan of attack and where I'm going to eat. Somebody please stop the madness.

Let's keep this thread rolling!!!! Anybody want to start a list as to where we all will be staying and our dates?

I'm looking at getting the 2010 UG. I have the 2009 and I think I've worn out the pages. I also have the 2009 Birnbaum but that didn't do much for me. Time to update my knowledge with the new release.

I'm so excited, and it's over a year away. (My DH says he's going to unplug the computer.)

I already know that June 12th is the day I can make ADR. My husband thinks I'm crazy. The only thing that bothers me is that I can't really figure out when Wishes shows the week of Dec 11-18. It seems to be different each night, and that is the only reason we went for the TPV at the Contemporary. So I sure don't want to schedule a meal during Wishes you know! As for any deals, I can only hope!

I wrote down this year's schedule of when the MVMCP was (usually Tues., Thurs., Friday, and Sunday) and went by the Holiday Wishes being at 9:30 on the party nights. On nights that there is no party, Spectro is at 7 and Wishes at 8. We HAVE to be in our rooms to watch the fireworks as I am paying big bucks for this view.

Kimggg - 12/18 - 12/22 not sure where we are staying! - Are there historically ANY discounts offered for the week of Christmas? This is our FIRST WDW trip!

4 adults, 3 kids, will be aged 1, 8, and one turning 11 on 12/21!

Okay, somebody feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I seem to recall.

Last year Disney Visa offered Free Dining to cardholders for the week before Christmas -- maybe ending on the 20th, 21st??? This year free dining is being offered to the general public up until the 17th.

As long as the first day of your trip is booked under a discount, the remainder of your trip qualifies.

I would sign up for a Disney Visa just in case a good deal like the one mentioned above is released for next year. And plus you earn Disney Reward dollars (just make sure you don't accumulate debt trying to get those Reward Dollars)

that wonderful card has already given me $811 in disney$$ and we are not going until Nov 2011... I have a whole year to earn more!! woohoo!!
