Need Advice about Planet Hollywood, my DH and DS9 want to go to ESPN (which we are doing, eventhough they don't take AR's they are on list of must do's :flower: ) and Planet Hollywood I haven't heard much about PH , is it worth a TS credit, how's the food and atmosphere? Should we just go buy the Tshirt and say been there :rotfl2:

Thanks

We love planet hollywood, as well as the kids. We have been going to the DTD planet hollywood since it opened. The food is wonderful, you have to have the Cap'n crunch chicken finger appetizer.

Hubby and I love to split the la lasagna and cobb salad. Both are huge portions, huge, they could probably feed 4 people. Fun atmosphere.

You're likely to hear some negatives about the food at PH, and truth be told I'm not all that crazy about their entrees (though I do adore their version of nachos). But DO GO for the desserts. They have simply the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten (you have to really love chocolate), and an alcohol-drenched bread pudding with white chocolate shavings that is to die for, and I HATE bread pudding.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum -- I've been to PH in Chicago (before it closed), Minnesota (Mall of America), and Orlando and have yet to have a positive experience. The service has been mediocre and the food is on par with Chiles or Applebees. Of course, I was always struck by how overpriced it was, but you wouldn't really have to deal with sticker shock if you're on the dining plan.

That said, if my kids wanted to go, I'd do it for them.

I know I'm in the minority here, but we have dined at PH a few times and we always enjoy our meals. The LA Lasanga is delicious!

I think it's an overpriced tourist trap that is just a chain restaurant ;) How about that for honesty, LOL!

The food is very expensive, the tables are crammed in there so tight you can literally drink from the table next to you if you think their cocktail looks more appealing, and it's so loud you can't think. For that, kids and teenagers usually love it! =)

We used to have one in Dallas. It sucked too, and finally closed. Guess we didn't have enough tourists to keep it busy because the locals knew to stay away, LOL.

If your family wants to go, and you don't have one near you, then I'd go. I never go there or to RFC because we have/had them here, but it'd be different if I didn't have them close. You may love it! =)

The food is okay....nothing to go out of the way for, IMHO. Noise level is ear-splitting....we barely heard our names when our table was ready.

Well, we've been to both only once. We escaped from Epcot one day and went to ESPN. It was a late lunch and we enjoyed it. PH was fun, but very busy. It was for dinner and the food was fairly good that day. I think we would return to both!

We have only eaten at PH once. We went there because the Entertainment book has a $5 coupon! :rotfl2:
We were not expecting much, as I have read many bad reviews here. But our food was very good. It is loud, which was no surprise and we expected that.
But service and food were good. And I think the prices were reasonable for WDW sit down.

Food is okay, but plentiful. As others have said, I compare it to an Applebees, maybe a half-step higher. Like most chains, burgers, steaks, and the like are pretty good - but I'd stay away from the more "creative" dishes.

The noise level is tremendous - much like a Hard Rock Cafe. In essence, it's the same thing.

Money-wise, you will get a good value using your 1TS credit there. You will find noted that there is a surcharge to "some" menu items, but in fact it's only one - the $28 entree (surf and turf?? I can't remember)...it's the only one over $22, so if you order it you pay the diff. Other than that, everything else is included except for the Volcano dessert (though I've heard of people being able to comibine desserts to get one - though it is not policy).

It's a neat place. Wouldn't go out of my way to go (I never go to DTD anyway), but I wouldn't shy anyone away from going as long as they knew what to expect.

PS - If you are staying at a Disney resort, ask for a priority seating card. Can't remember exactly what they call it, but if you give it to them at PH you will be seated more quickly than other people walking up.

This place gets a great amount of negative comments. Our food was quite good and it is fun to look at the movie props around the restaurant. This place is loud! We would return, but don't expect a quiet dinner. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

PH is not worth it imho. But thats because we have a few near us, the food is average and so is the service. When in WDW we prefer to eat where we cant normally eat at home.

When I was making my ADRs the CM gave me a PS# for Planet Hollywood for Sept 17th. Will PH not honor it? We're going there our first night and I believe the ADR is for around 8:30pm. She told me Cap'n Jack's didn't accept ADRs, but didn't say anything about PH not accepting them and just gave me the number.
