So we are planning on going to Downtown Disney after our AK day in December. We are pretty sure we want to try Planet Hollywood. It is included in the dining plan, right? How is the food?

If we use our dining plan there, will we be able to use our $15 voucher as well, to add on a couple of appetizers or something?

Thanks!

Yes it is and the we like it there. Good Food & a nice atmosphere.

It's nothing special to go out of your way for IMO, but you might as well use the voucher! (we usually do this every year)

If you are going to eat in DTD, may I suggest Rainforest Cafe? Or T-Rex? I have not eaten at T-rex but have been told it is similar to RFC, and Rainforest is one of my favorite restaurants (Mojo Bones!!!)

Thanks, we actually tried Trex and Rainforest last time as we didn't have the DDP. But since we will have it this time, I would like to utilize it as much as possible. Plus, using the vouchers with our DDP to get free appetizers and such sounds pretty cool!

We did love T-rex and Rainforest, but my dd was pretty frightened of the moving loud animals, lol!

You should go there if you have never been and definately try the Caption Crunch Chicken Tenders. HOLY MOLY THEY ARE AWESOME.:lovestruc

PH is the site of the single worst dining experience in any of our trips to WDW. It used to be our first night ritual but thanks to a pattern of declining service and food quality we won't return. There's plenty of better places to eat to get the most value out of your credits, voucher or no.

We had ressies there for our trip two years ago.
They sent us in to sit at the bar and said it would be about 15 minutes.
The bar was absolutely FULL of people waiting for tables, standing room only.
They announce the parties names over a loudspeaker that you can not hear over the obnoxiously loud pounding music they are playing.
We waited for 2 1/2 hours ( constantely checking because we couldn't hear the names called) and were told, it shouldn't be too much longer!
We finally found a place to sit in the bar area, but the table was full of other peoples debris, and not one staff member came over to bus anything.
Our ressies were for 6:00pm, we wound up eating at McDonalds at 10:30pm and just making the boat back to the resort. Needless to say, PH is off our list permanently.

I didn't realize they were on the DDP. Do you need/do they take ressies? We are a large party, and have been mostly unable to secure ADR's. I know the reviews are mixed, but think we'll give it a try...

Yes on the DDP, they do take ADR's and I would suggest trying for one. They also take normal call in ressies like Rainforest as well. I know it gets off and on reviews, but for us it is a must-do every trip. We always have had good service and very good food there. My 2 sons, love this place more than anywhere else, including Rainforest. The atmosphere with the music and hustle and bustle isn't exactly for everyone, but IMHO it is wel worth the trip

It's okay, pretty average food. Fun atmosphere, neat to look at the movie props. From what I have read, the vouchers and dining plan cannot be used together. Some people have suggested sitting at the bar to wait for your table and ordering appetizers there and paying by using your voucher, and using the dining plan when you're actually seated.

We do not have the dining plan or a voucher but I have been trying to get a reservation for dinner there during our trip in three weeks. I, unfortunately, did not plan to eat there when I made my original ADRs at 90 days out, but am now trying to get a dinner there and having no luck. I keep hoping someone will cancel. I have been trying online every day.

I hope you have better luck. I know it has mixed reviews, but I think it is probably worth trying. :) Enjoy!

I've never posted on a board before, but I can't find this answer anywhere...I'm going to Disney in Dec and I'm not sure we will have time to go the Planet Hollywood when we stay on site. We have the dining plan and are having a heck of a time agreeing on restaurants . (If my sister had her way we would eat our way through Disney) We are staying off site for the Universal leg of the trip and I was wondering if the $15.00 voucher included in the Magic Your Way package expires when we leave the Disney Resort. If not we thought we could go to DTD and use it then. Another question can you park at different resorts if you stay on site. We are staying at POP Century, but want to tour other resorts and maybe parasail. It seems like it will be a hassle to take a bus to a park just to get to a resort. We will be there a while going between the monorail resorts .We will probably need to park at Poly all day. We want to eat breakfast there, Parasail and ride the Sea racyers at Contemporary have afternoon tea at The Grand Floridian and go to the Aloha show. Will we have a parking problem? Thanks a bunch

You cannot use the DDP and voucher at the same time. If you want to eat at downtown, there are much better choices.

They will not allow you to use the voucher with any other discount. In fact, if you look on the voucher it will say, 'can not be used in conjunction with any other discount, including the Disney Dining Plan'.

What people have reported doing is sitting at the bar and using the voucher to order an appetizer, then after they pay, get a table and order the rest of the meal. Just be sure to pay for the appetizer, before going to the table.

We have eaten there twice and had good food both times. It is loud and busy but my kids enjoy the music (they have a live DJ) and the large video screen.

We have eaten here a few times and really enjoyed it. It is loud, but it is neat to look at everything. Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex are not on the dining plan, you would need to pay out of pocket if you eat at either of those places.

We loved eating there for many years, this years food was a step down from dog food awful meat. Cheapest cuts of meat, dirty tables and no atmosphere. We will be eating elsewhere in future.

So if you can use the voucher at the bar for appetizers, could you use it for drinks at the bar also?

If my sister and I have 2 separate rooms and 2 vouchers, can we use them at the same time?
