Planet Hollywood - Good or Bad?

Lately I have read some poor review on Planet Hollywood. We are looking for a DTD restaurant to eat at before attending Cirque. After looking at the menus it seems that PH would suit our tastes best. However if the food/service is really bad then we could go to RK (although we are already eating at the one at AK) or a resort/park to eat.

Thanks for any advise. Our trip is finally getting closer!!!!!

PH is just ok. We've had some good service and some very poor service there. We only go because our DS loves it there. My favorite DTD restaurant is Wolfgang. There are a lot of choices on the menu and we've always had great service and the food is really good.

I had skipped it for several years because of the quality of both food and service. Last month I went with some relatives. When we showed up five minutes before our reservation we were told that it would be about a 45 minute wait. We were actually seated about an hour after our scheduled time. The seating is so tight that getting to and from the table can be difficult, and if you are on an aisle constantly getting bumped.

The food is decent, and if you like a lot of noise it is the place to go.

NEVER AGAIN. The food is not very good, and it's loud and obnoxious in there. I would choose Rainforest over Planet Hollywood, but might I suggest House of Blues or Wolfgang Puck? Both excellent choices.

Planet Hollywood (dinner after first Cirque show~8 pm)- LOUD!!! Chicken sandwiches & Chicken Crunch. Food was about an 8 on a 1-10 scale.

I've only eaten there once but wanted to give it a thumbs up. Our food was pretty decent and our waiter was really nice and efficient. We enjoyed looking at all the memorabilia there too. :earsgirl:

I've eaten at other PH around the country but not at Orlando. There are too many other good restaurants than getting an okay burger or ceasar salad.

Try Wolfgang Puck's - its wonderful.

I know Im in the minority here, but I really enjoy PH. We have eaten there 4 times now and never had a bad meal. I love the LA Lasagna! Things havent always been 100% perfect...once we had slow service to start off with, or DH's pasta dish could have been cooked a little more (it was still good though), but overall we really enjoy it. :)

We have had long waits, twice before they started taking PSs. When we went with a PS or more recently, with the preferred seating card that we got at our resort, we didnt wait more than 5 minutes. . :)

We ate there last week.

We had plans - and a PS - to eat at Wolfgang Puck's, but those plans went awry, so we decided to walk over to Planet Hollywood.

If I remember correctly, it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 7:00 p.m. when we arrived. We were seated in about 15 minutes.

I think we pretty much all had cheeseburgers, with DS(6) and DD(2) both getting spaghetti and meatballs.

Food was decent. Typical theme restaurant food. Our crew enjoys the Loud environment. It helps drown out my own kids' voices :rotfl2: .

Again, it is all subjective. We enjoy it, because we know going in the type of food they serve and the type of environment that is there.

We went in Feb. 2005 and loved it. I have the burger and my DH had the steak. He said it was very good. Everyone has their own tastes. Fun atmosphere and great food in my opinion.

HATED IT!!!!!!! It was the worst meal that I've ever had on Disney property. When we were done we wished we would have eaten at the McDonalds at DTD instead.

We love PH. My DH and DD (age 6) eat there several times during our 2 week vacation to WDW every year. We love the food and the atmosphere. Worth the waiting times. Service always good - never had a complaint about the food either.

It will be the first place we eat on our trip in July

Planet Hollywood- Yuck- disgusting- we once ordered a burger there and it was raw- not even cooked at all- just seared on the outside and when my son bit into it- it was raw and cold. We never went back!!

It's so-so. And RFC isn't any better. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of the "Tourist Trap" places and dine at Wolfgang Pucks or Bongo's. I had a marvelous dinner at WGP's last week, and I was downstairs wher eit's not as gourmet. (I didn't feel appropriately dressed for upstairs.)

It has nice surroundings but that is about it. The service is average on a good night if you are lucky. The food is nothing special, we had to get 2 items out of ten people remade due to errors. On top of all of that the food is just plain expensive, even for disney standards. Each kid meal ends up costing 7.95 with drink if I remember correctly. Just not worth it in my book. You can dine anywhere else and be more satisfied I think.

I agree, both RFC and PH are just overpriced tourist traps. Plus they're chains and not unique. I think the food is extremely expensive for what you get, and it's loud and packed. I wouldn't waste my money there when there are other great places there that you can get a better meal for a better price. We always have horrid service there, too.

It was fun for us the first time. Second time seemed louder, service was awful, food not as good. Last time it was even worse and we've given up on it.

Planet Hollywood has great food. We just had to wait for a loong time (standing up) for a table. Our waiter was great, food was great. I would make reservations to avoid the wait. The menu is $$$. You can try Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney.

PH was the worse meal we had in the 20 + times we have been there. Rainforest is far better and great atmosphere.

I enjoyed the food. However it was like having a good meal in hell. I find the atmosphere obnoxiously loud.
