planet hollywood/free EXTRA credit?

Anyone know if you can use 2 vouchers on one table? My parents and my family booked different packages. So we will have 2 vouchers. We will eat together. If we do can we use the 2 vouchers?

I believe it says "one voucher per party". Now, can you say "Rip off"?

It still is a FREE meal, even if it's just one. Does not sound like a rip off to me. :confused3

Thank you for saying what I was thinking. First of all the free dining package price is rack room rate + ticket price so anything you get beyond that (including the dining plan) is free ... a bonus ...

If you don't use the voucher you are not loosing any money. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

B1G1 offers are sometimes NOT a bargain. I have seen stores mark up items before applying the 'discount'.

As far as Planet Hollywood goes I plan on giving my vouchers away to someone I see hanging around there who might be able to use them. If they are wanting to eat there anyway the voucher would be a bargain, to them.

When getting free food, half price is not a bargain and especially at a place that I do not particularly want to eat at.

I used to be a refunder back in the day and it always amazed me at the people who would buy things they did not want nor need just to get the 'refund'.

It also sounds as if PH is desperate for the customers as I have seen many such promotions from them. I do not like the sound of all the exceptions either. Wonder if the quality of the food would be worth it also but I will leave that to someone who has been there recently to report on.

I'm interested in understanding how this all works too. We got two packages(2 rooms) through AAA and just received the 2 vouchers. We're not eating at PH on the dp, but we'll probably use them for lunch one day so two people have an extra CS to use for the day we fly home instead of having to eat at the airport. If I read that right, you can only use one voucher per party. That means that our two people would have to eat there at separate times, right?

To each his own - I do not consider having to buy meals for the other 4 people in my party "looking a gift horse in the mouth". Having to spend $70 for 4 people's meals (and don't forget tax and tip on my FREE meal) is not my idea of a GIFT, it's a MARKETING PLOY.

Have a great time doing whatever it is you want to do, I will do the same.

Also, I think you have to show ID with the voucher because your name is on the voucher, so I don't think giving the voucher to someone else will help them. I do not know this for a fact, but I do know they say they are "non-transferrable".

My my ... testy testy!

You said that it was a "Rip Off" ... not a "Marketing Ploy" in your original post... I will agree with you that it is a "Marketing Ploy" but it is not a "Rip Off." That is a very big difference!

I own a business and any type of marketing promotion will be designed to bring business in for me. You always need to recoup the costs of your promotion. Promotions are designed to make money not loose them.

No one is holding a gun to your head telling you have to go to PH so it's your chioce to go and pay for the other people in your party. You will STILL get somewhat of a discount equaling to one free meal minus tax and tip.

The point being that if you throw the dang thing away you are not loosing any money.

I took exception to your term "rip off" ....

I guess the only way I would view it as a "rip off" is if it was not clear that it was one per package and that perk was a main reason I chose to go on the package. Was the meal at PH a deciding factor for you??

I am just tired of all the whiners. Get a grip. My PH voucher will go in the trash I'm sure as I don't want to eat there and I don't want to spend money for 4 other meals there. I'm sure with the free dining we will not miss it one bit.

If you want to go there to use the one free meal ... do it but don't whine about it and call it a rip off.

The merchandise was a keychain when we went in January, kinda cheesy too. We didn't use the food voucher.

I'm sure we will be going to DTD on more than one day of our trip. I'd love it if we could pop in and use the voucher for a quick, light take out lunch to share. Or, DH could eat this and I could get something somewhere I'd like better, and we could take it back to the resort for a break!

Actually, I've never had the desire to eat at PH, lol! - I live right ouside Chicago, so if the urge ever struck, I wouldn't have to travel 1200 miles. When we first read that we were getting a PH voucher; we, like many others on this board, thought it was one per person. We changed our plans to include PH.

I found out, through this board, that it was one per party (which, seeing as we got 2 for booking 2 rooms is laughable in itself - we can't even use them at the same time!). We changed our plans back.

But how many people don't research things thoroughly, and will be IN the restaurant when they find out? Now, I know that was their own responsibility to get the information, but it still seems a little shady to me. PH knows not everyone is going to read the stupid certificate. They're counting on it. And that's not the kind of "marketing ploy" I would be comfortable supporting. Sure, buyer beware; but on the other hand, shame on PH.

I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone by voicing an opinion, but I went from "Wow! Free dinner" to "Whoa! It's gonna cost us $70 to use this voucher" - sure felt like a rip-off to me. Maybe that's why I'm "whining" about it.

And to answer your question; lol! no, PH was not the reason we're doing the dining plan. We got the free dining last September and found it to be a great value for us, so we're paying to get it this time.

Whether people go there or not doesn't affect me one way or the other. I'll do what I want, the same goes for everyone else.

Thank heavens this is just a dining choice and not anything important in life...

Well, it does say one per package on your confirmation letter. ;) That is not too much research as far as I’m concerned, just read your documents.
