Plane tickets online.......

contrare to popular belief they would never allow a 2 yr old to sit by themselves away from the family. The airlines personnel are trained to take care of that. we do whatever possible in our limitations to make sure that young ones like that are not sitting by themselves with complete strangers. give us a little credit here and don't believe everything you hear.

Oh BL I didnt' believe her........ that is why the rolling eyes! Besides....... as if the guy sitting next to a 2 year old wouldn't trade places with the parent. Sorry for the confusion!

MerMaid 96 our seats are all together like 5-A 5-B 5-C 5-D OR 28-C 28-D28-E 28-F They go on like that, like someone told me look at orbitz and call the airline good luck to you cmatt

I just wanted to share my recent seat mix-up story. I was flying NWA round trip from Lansing, Michigan to Minneapolis with my mom and my 6 year old DD a couple of weeks ago. I was never able to get seat assignments when I booked on their website and called several times after booking to try to get assignments -- to no avail. On the way to Minneapolis, they had us seated together, so I thought everything was fine. Well, imagine my surprise when, on the way back, we were all over the plane. The man at the baggage check was not helpful except to say I needed to talk with the gate agent. My DD was all upset and crying because she was afraid she wouldn't be able to sit with me -- even though I told her it would all work out somehow.

Fortunately, we were there plenty early and I talked to the gate agent right away. I was polite and clear in describing the problem. She was kind and clear in putting us all in first class! Too bad it's only an hour flight. So, Mermaid 96, maybe you'll have great luck, too.

I think that happens alot when last minute deals are available and the ones that don't tell you even what flight or holtel you will have until after you buy, what .com did you buy from was it NW ? I for sure want to stay away from them sounds like what you can get at priceline sometimes sad story when they sent you the tickets, did it have the seat mess then or did you print your own ?? so sad____ cmatt

:(

cmatt:

I wasn't complaining. We were all delighted to be seated in the same row in the first class section. I was just echoing Beverly Lynn's statement that the gate agents will try to take care of the little ones. They took care of us nicely.

I booked through NWA.com; usually you can select your seats when you book, but on this particular flight, they wouldn't let me. It wasn't a bargain fare, but the gate agent told me that they hold back on seat assignments for 50 to 60 percent of the seats.

I would never purchase through priceline or hotwire. I just can't stand the uncertainty there.

Just booked our flights on Orbitz.com last night. They definately found me the cheapest airfares. I paid 165.00 per person leaving 2/12/2002 from Boston and returning on 2/23/2002 (Saturday of president's week). Travelocity could only come up with a $220.00 fare and when I called Delta directly the cost was $250.00 each. So I booked on Orbitz and then called Delta this morning to make sure they had us in their ressie sytem and they did. I would definately always check Orbitz first!:)

JennSaint,
Why Boston? Why not Worcester or Providence. Often GREAT fares from Providence. Even Hartford might be easier than Boston.
As to any online ticket agency, I go to the source via the net. IE: Delta.com, SWA.com etc.
I have yet to find a less expensive fare via an online travel service.

Sandi Hi,

I just can't understand when someone might have been on that flight so you could have set with your DD , But I'am also glad that you had a happy ending to your flight, and I was'nt trying to inply that you might have bought them from one of those two mentioned, it just sounded like one of those stories I have heard before, any way that first class thats ok isn't it?/ And I do like that Orbitz so far have no reason not to, I hope they keep it up and stay around for along time,

cmatt

:bounce: :bounce: :D :) ;)

I like happy endings !! :D

I'm doing it! When my dh calls from work today I'm gonna see if he wants to buy the airline tickets from Orbitz NOW!! Thanks for the help everyone!!:D

GAIL
I normally choose to fly Providence or Hartford but they just didn't have the cheapest fair for our time frame. We'll be having a private van drive us so we won't have the hassle of parking etc. And as for Worcester I can be at that airport in 15 minutes but their prices were at least $100 more(there's 6 of us). So believe me I've done my homework. Because we're buying tickets for my mother and her boyfriend also, I couldn't buy directly from Delta.com because they do not allow 3rd party billing and Orbitz did. That wouldn't have been a problem except they are returning 3 days earlier than us and we had to do their tickets as a whole seperate transaction.

Jenn,
Makes sense to me. Having grown up (well I did get older) in Leicester, I know how easy it is to get to Worcester Airport. :)
I got Hartford to Orlando for 75.00 rt, non stop, but, I am going earlier than you. Sept, in fact.
Is James Pietro still principal at the school?

Did I understand you correctly. That would be great if they do! I am forever not able to use Delta's site cause my ticket is a voucher or FF and then I can't book the kiddos online. I have paid a bit extra because of that :-( Also lose the extra 1000 FF.

Although I'm sure orbitz doesn't give the extra FF.

Yes Orbitz does allow 3rd party! We just did this a few nights back. We bought tickets for my mom and her boyfriend. Give them a try we got a great fare.:)
