What do you do on the plane to keep yourself busy? How 'bout when you're standing in really long lines? :confused3

Make fun of the people around me.

Ok, that was my honest answer, but my other answer is to read my Disney book and TGM printouts.

We brought the MP3 player, Game Boy, and Nintendo DS for the plane. I let my DS decide :scratchin what he wanted to bring with him to the parks. The Game Boy and Nintendo really came in handy while waiting in lines!! :thumbsup2

Dh and I played scrabble (got a special travel scrabble game at target) Dd4 had a coloring book and FIL brought a portable DVD player. Waiting in line wasn't too bad, but we kept a few little toys in the bag we took to the parks in case Dd got bored.

Plane ride - we take the red eye and everyone sleeps!

Long lines - look for another ride that doesn't have a long line. I absolutely refuse to get in line for anything that takes more than 15 minutes. I just walk around until I find something with a short line! I have been pleasantly surprised by the shows & rides I would never have gone on, except for a short wait existing!

We also look for hidden Mickey's while in line. Also, if we get bored we just introduce ourselves to people around us and ask "where are you folks from". It's a great conversation starter, most people are very friendly and we have learned a lot about different parts of the world. :)

Define 'long' ?

2hrs or less isn't long.. just read a magazine or two (or even the current paper) and you're set.

5+hrs you really need a movie.. and more. Usually try to pick a book before the trip..

or for the gadget types.. the portable game player (like GameBoy) are the best for long flights. Pickup a new game before a trip and you're set.

We only have a 2 hour flight, so I fire up the MP-3 (downloaded with over 400 Bon Jovi songs, of course) and always have a hot romance novel.

Waiting in lines....if at the airport, I love people studying...check out clothes, shoes, stuff they are carrying (yeah, I don't get out much).
At the parks, if the line is longer than 10 minutes, I fast pass and find something without a line! I'm too old to do lines anymore!!!
