My 6-year-old Hermione Granger wanna-be and I will be staying off-site with the Harry Potter Package (allowing us to be in the parks 1 hour early) will be going to IOA later this month.

Can those of you who have been or other IOA vets suggest a plan of attack? :)

I suspect we'll make a bee-line to WWOHP first, but what after? I have purchased FOTL passes for the first day we are there, but not the 2nd.

TIA!!!

A lot depends on your child's height and courage. Does she like thrill rides?

Just to mention, the Express Pass Plus allows you to use the Express entrance for applicable rides once per day (so cannot be used multiple times on the same day). It's also not yet confirmed (although likely doubtful) that the Express passes can be used for FJ.

But we're in a slightly worse boat, staying offsite, no package, no express, but we're still going to love it! :rotfl:

I don't know if you purchased one or two park express but if it was one park I would use them at IOA. Of course head to WWOHP for your early hour and ride those rides. Depending on her height DD 7 just now hit 48 inches so she might not be able to ride FJ (48 inches) or Dragon Challenge (54 inches?).

I would use your express pass on Ripsaw Falls when the temp gets hot :) I've seen waits on that ride up to 90 minutes the last few weeks. The rides at IOA would have longer waits than those at US prob, but if you got a 2 park pass I would head over there after WWOHP since that park might be a little bit slower and you will be able to ride everything there and then go back to IOA later in the afternoon to do the water rides and other rides they have there :)

Take your 2nd day and go to WWOHP again early :) and then hit those attractions that you missed the first day or want to do again. DD loves the Simpsons so we have to ride that over and over again :)

Is early entry the only benefit of your package? No FOTL with it?

Since you will have the early start the regular customers will be making a beeline for WWOHP when you are already there. That should free up everything else for you and your daughter. I wouldn't buy that 2nd day of FOTL until you see if it's worth it. We have never bought an Express pass and always see everything we want to.

She's around 46 inches last time I checked, but am going to re-measure her and hope that if it's close, a high pony tail will help ;)

She's already disappointed she won't get to ride the big coasters.

What should I expect while waiting to go in? Will there be a crowd? If so, how do I muscle through them to get in?

I hate being the bearer of bad news but the high ponytail rarely works! They will push it down! They've done it many times with my daughter. I would make sure you DD knows that there is a chance she won't be able to ride the new HP ride if that is what she is looking forward too. Then if she is tall enough it is a nice surprise!

about the pony-tail thing. Your child either is, or is not the height to get on a ride. It is for the child's safety that she may not be able to ride, not because they don't like you/her or that they don't want you to have a good time. I've has actually seen people stretching their kids necks at Splash Mountain to show how their child just reached the line while the kid was screaming (not that you would do it..just saying I saw it.. making hair higher is not quite the same as pulling your kid apart).. but anyway, Disney and Universal are not going anywhere. Save the bigger rides (if she does not measure up) for a trip when she is older. It will give you something to look forward to on your next trip.

Sorry..not trying to be a downer.. just thinking safety first .. Have a wonderful trip, and I hope you get on everything you want to:goodvibes

If she were 47 3/4" you could fold up some paper and stick it in her shoes but you aren't going to make up 2 inches. They will push her hair down to measure her. She'll just have to wait until next time. :sad2:

If someone is too short will they let them go through the ride que so her daughter can see that part of it? She might enjoy that.:thumbsup2

You can go thru hte que but then will have to exit to the child swap or chicken exit before getting on the ride. They will check them again at the ride if they look like they are not tall enough to ride.
