Plan for MVMCP

We are planning to go to MVMCP on Tuesday December 6th. There will be 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids will be 8 (boy) and 10 (girl). It will be the last night of our trip so I think they should be able to stay out pretty late. I’m planning to arrive at 4:00 and eat quick service for dinner. I think we can see Santa another day at MK or Epcot. It’s our first and probably only Christmas party. These are our must do’s:

• Parade on Main Street
  
  
• Fireworks
  
  
• Frozen Castle Show (Is this worthwhile?)
  
  
• Mickey and maybe some other characters in holiday clothes. We don’t need to see the 7 dwarfs or Jack Skellington which I know are popular.
  

Can you suggest a plan of attack to cover this? Anything must do’s that we are missing? We’ve done several characters over the years and will also be at Chef Mickey’s during the trips. So I’m really only interested in seeing the characters that are in holiday clothes. Which characters are in holiday clothes?

I really want to see the parade from Main Street so I’m guessing the second parade will be our best bet. What time do we need to stake out a spot for this?

I didn't go to last year's party, but I did visit in 2014 and am going again this year.

I really enjoy the shows at MVMCP. So, while I agree the parade and fireworks are a must do, I'd also check out the Tomorrowland holiday show and the show on the castle stage with Mickey.

The castle lighting is beautiful. I can take or leave the Frozen characters, but watching the castle light up is lovely. The show happens on non-party nights as well, so you might catch it another day if you plan to be in MK more than once. It also happens on party nights before the party. You might try that to free up more time after 7pm.

As for characters, I'm hoping to meet Scrooge and Donald in their holiday best. Others have reported that Mickey is in holiday gear in his meet-and-greet on Main Street after the party starts.
