Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Some initial thoughts. Our trip starts tomorrow:

1. My trip is 4 days, starting tomorrow, I saw significantly more availability for DHS 4 days from now than MK 2 days from now. I believe the 7 day window will give onsite guests a good advantage, but I still was able to get everything for MK 2 days from now, so I don't think that advantage is a good reason to switch from offsite to onsite.

2. I was able to get overlapping times by modifying, even though the times it originally proposed did not overlap.

3. It seems to look for availability for LLIP first, so if you don't want that first, move it later and that will open times to move the LLMP earlier.

4. I think this is better than getting up at 7am everyday during vacation.

5. Cost, yeah, it adds up. MK day for 4 was $232+tax for the LLMP and ILL on top of the ticket prices for a family of 4. We bought LLMP for 3 out of 4 days because we only had one evening, two full days and 1 half-day. Those that have full days at each park can probably use other strategies and save hundreds.

That function does not appear to be an option.

You are able to modify and move select members of your group to another experience but no know way to add anyone new to an existing. Not sure why you would expect to add anyone. It is not a slinky process (bad phrase but it seems to fit the question).

Because I have members of my friends/family arriving after us. We arrive Tuesday, they arrive Wednesday. If i'm able to book rides earlier for us on Thursday because we arrive earlier, i wanted to see if I could modify my already made reservation to add rest of party when they are eligible to book.

That's why.

Just from my initial impressions as someone with an AP that takes last minute trips. This system is horrible. If I’m looking at this Friday for instance: selections are terrible and times are terrible. Ugh. Again (as with FP) it rewards people with long trips booking for 7 days (keep in mind that those who got stuff for the next 3 days….you only got that because it wasn’t available before today- in the future you won’t be able to get those selections). Beyond disappointed.
I'm only seeing Slinky and Tiana as completely booked for Friday, which doesn't surprise me. Other than that, availability looked ok to me although I was only seeing times after 2pm since I don't have a park reservation - even lots of slots for Remy. I'm not sure I'd judge this week as a great example of what availability will look like long-term as I'm sure plenty of bloggers are booking the next couple days so they can create content. Next week might be a better gauge.

Yes it's shocking that you can't get a refund where are the consumer's laws??? It made sense with genie+ because you were buying it the day of, but we are buying this two weeks in advance, what if there is an hurricane what if one gets sick etc....
Disney will refund if there is a hurricane 💯 If I got sick or trip cancelled I would message Disney and ask for a refund, they don’t have to but they might.

Which is a reminder to all booking- if you are paying with a gc do not destroy the gc until after your trip! Storms can be crazy last minute things, rides can break down all day, etc. Disney used the same language with G but people got refunds under extenuating circumstances.

I feel like after this first rush, availability might be better and level out to be more consistent with genie+ availability on a given day. Does that make sense?
Yea I don't think so. I think as the rest of the world actually learns about advance purchase vs the old Genie+ same purchase system. I think it we will actually see less availability.

Remember it started today but from here on out there will be may thousands of guests booking rolling 3 day, 7 day for up to 14 day stays. The LLMP / LLSP availability was 100% open today it will not be that in the future.

We wanted BTMRR as our tier one pick on 7/29 so my plan is to try for the virtual queue at 7am for Tiana’s 🤞🙏❤️rolling the dice

I think Disney may revamp the tiers as time goes on and feedback comes in.

They did the same by changing ILL and moving some rides to G+.

Here’s to hoping.

Any reports of people in the park pulling their next LLMP after scanning into their first ride?

I understand but there is no magic slack in the return windows to add them to your LLMP selections. The best you could hope to do is try to book overlapping times for them once their booking window opens. You can also modify your group's return time window as you try to get overlapping time windows.

The same situation existed in Genie+, FP+, and even with the original FP system.

Well I didn't know that, so I asked. Thanks Dave.
