Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I think it would be helpful to know how your day was if you don't mind sharing!
Feel free to ask any questions.

Happy to share, I’ll post here but if there is a better place feel free to direct me there.

We booked on the 24th for the 31st, I will say this probably gave us an advantage comparing to if it was a short trip and not the first bookable day ie no one had this as day 6 of their trip already booked 13 days in advance so I had full availability when I booked. We had 1 park day so our main goal was to maximize our time.

We had the following pre booked 905-1005 pirates, 1005-1105 haunted mansion, and 1105-1205 Tiana's, we also had Tron for 130-230 and Guardians for 605-705.

We arrived around 850, and skipped early entry.

We walked on jungle cruise 3rd boat of the day
Tapped into pirates (had a boat to ourselves)
Booked Big thunder for 1030-1130
Got Beignets
Did country bears
Tapped in to haunted mansion
Booked space for 2-3
Tapped into big thunder
Booked frozen for 730-830
Got pixie dusted with free ice cream waiting for our Tiana time
Tapped into Tiana
Booked small world for immediate return 1150ish I think?
Tapped into small world and booked Sorian for 3-4
Went to get the creme brûlée croissant and it was sold out!
Rode Ariel (waited 20 minutes!!!)
Got my croissant
Had lunch at 1240 at the plaza
Rode tron
Tapped into space
Booked living with the land for 3-4
Rode people mover
Got a coffee and headed to Epcot
Refreshed a bit and got living with the land a bit later
Tapped into sorian
Refreshed till tower showed up, booked it I think it was 730-830
Tapped into living with the land
Refreshed for a bit and grabbed a time for Toy Story mania I think 7-8
Did figment
Did Journey of Water
It was 5ish so got a drink and decided to do stand by for Frozen to kill time (said 60 minutes waited 34).
Released frozen LL and booked smugglers
Was able to refresh and modify tower to 7-8
Still had time to kill got a snack and another drink walked world showcase while dying of heat
Rode guardians
Bus to Hollywood
Did tower and decided the weather was nice and to catch the drone show instead of last two LLs released Toy Mania and Smugglers

Over all it was a very successful day with a bit of refreshing we got almost anything we wanted. Only things I never saw pop up were Tiana’s, Slinky Dog, and Ratatouille

I will be following along the next couple months to see if this holds. If it does, we will likely keep our offsite hotel and these rides in standby or VQ if still applicable.

I’m less worried about those because I’m more confident I can “fiddle faddle” into those ones.
Not as easy to do as it was with Genie. Currently, Disney is releasing much less inventory. Most same day availability is much later in the day. I’m sure you can get lucky and snatch a dropped LL, but prepare to be on your phone more than ever before. The poster just a few posts back was only able to get so many as they were booking just at rollout. Check out thrill data to get an idea of inventory or lack there of for same day.

Talk to me about the crème brûlée croissant. Where do you get that?

🫣never used genie+

Well, on my own, extended family managed it. They will not be along for DL trip end of month or next WDW trip

Slowly, trying to work my way thru this thread. admittedly, not quite grasping the basics, let alone the intricacies, to use new LL
effectively

In my defense I did catch onto DLs old max pass and appreciated that ability to stack them

Is there a more condensed LL "dummies" guide/post here somewhere?

Something to just get me on track, don't expect to be a power user as many here have posted. (Good for them). Baby steps lol

Even a blogger/YouTube video one could suggest? Figured Bricker would have something, looking for a couple of other succient sources to plow thru.

Hi. My family and I are in the parks this week and tmr. My parents want to relax at the pool while my two siblings and I go to a park (not sure which one yet). We want to buy LLMP for the day for all 5 of us but not sure if we can modify so the pre-booked rides are only for us 3. This is to avoid issues that my parents wouldn't tap in to the rides, meaning we can't grab any for later for ALL 5 of us. Is there any way we can modify so the pre-booked rides are only for me and my siblings?

I believe one of the moderators is working on the initial posts of a thread that will cover the WDW Lightning Lane rules, but it is a work in progress. Remember that the moderators aren't full-time employees of Disboards. They are unpaid volunteers with jobs. They can only devote some of their spare time to these tasks.

The Mammoth Club video listed in the post 3171 is the best I've seen so far, although it is long.

Tom Bricker has info on his website. I'm sure you can find it.

One important point to note. Although they use the same terms, the LLMP/LLSP systems at Disneyland and at Walt Disney World are different in how they work. Don't expect the info you get in this thread and the Mammoth Club video to apply fully at Disneyland. They are concerning WDW. You may be better off reading/viewing info about how Genie+ worked at Disneyland (if you can't find something about LLMP/LLSP at Disneyland specifically). The current system at DL is much closer to that than to the new system at WDW. It is also much closer to MaxPass than to the new system at WDW.

And, if all else fails, . . .
The Disneyland Lightning Lane webpage can be found here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/
The Walt Disney World Lightning Lane webpage can be found here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/lightning-lane-passes/

If you have any questions about the Lightning Lane system at WDW, please feel free to ask in this thread. If you have questions about the Lightning Lane system at Disneyland, I suggest you ask in the Disneyland (California) forum.

I am parkhopping. May a book the initial 3 LLs at different parks?

I suspect the answer is buried in this thread but it's a yes or no question.

Thank you!
Denise

Our first day we plan to go to the resort and hang our until out HS after hours event. However, we have 3 day hoppers. Would we be able to get RotR after 7 even though we don't plan to use a ticket until the next day? Our next 3 days will be park days. We plan to hop and do MNSSHP and Glo Nights.
Also, on our MNSSHP day we plan to go to AK (want to get FOP) and then go over to MK earlier than 4:00. Could we get a mine train also (7 days prior) or have to wait until we use the FOP?

The three initial LLMP reservations must all be booked in the same park. You can book LLSPs in different park(s) from the LLMP park (assuming you have park hopper tickets).

If your parents are not going to use the LLMP, then don't buy it for them.

If they are going to use it, then

1. for any hard to get ride, like Remy, Tiana, Slinky....just book for your whole party, parents included. This is so you don't miss out on it!

2. Modify your picks to either cancel theirs entirely (yours will be safe) or to select a different ride for them.

3. Don't do this for LLSP -- Tron, Rise, GOG, 7DMT, FOP -- for those rides, just select the people that will ride. You will not get a refund if you buy it for your parents and they decide not to ride.

I think your situation with ROTR is not quite known yet. I think that if you have 3 day hoppers, you will only be able to book on 3 days, BUT I do not know this for certain. However, it sounds like you don't plan to book on 3 different days, so maybe it will work.

You can get 7DMT and FOP on the same day. You can book these at your 7 day mark if you have a resort reservation.

I forgot the MNSSHP is starting so soon. And that stinks. I felt it was a good use of the in-between time to get through some of the not party specific rides.
I appreciate Disney doing this for regular day guests. They’re already getting a shorter day with higher crowds for the last two hours. They should at least not have the final hours of LL availability completely decimated by party goers.
