Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

If you are on-site then you have a 7 day advanced purchase window for your entire lenght of stay up to 14 days. Please note that you are still required to make a Park reservation since you are using an AP.

If you are not on-site then you have a 3 day advanced purchase window based on the limit(s) based on your AP level.
Each AP provides a different number of theme park reservations—made via the theme park reservation system: Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations held at a time. Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations held at a time. Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations held at a time.
That means that for your Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 day at a time reservations held at a time for example. Please note that you are still required to make a Park reservation since you are using an AP.

In summary if you are on-site then you can book 7 days before your resort stay and if you have a Disney Pirate Pass then you can book for lenght of your resort stay. Your on-site stay overrides any shorter limits. So your AP - Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations would be 7 days in lenght if your resort reservation was 7 days. You do not need purchase your LLMP / LLSP daily. Please note that you are still required to make a Park reservation since you are using an AP.

Is that clear enough?

Dave
Do we have confirmation they are allowing off site APs to book for the amount of park passes they hold? The website specifically calls out APs and non-date based ticket holders as being able to book within the 3 day window.

“*Annual Passholders and Guests with tickets that are not date-based may purchase Lightning Lane passes for any day within the 3-day purchase window.” Link

Did our first park day today at AK. We were a group of 21. You can actually make reservations on LLMP for 20 people at once, which made it so much easier than trying to do 2 groups of 10 & 11.

We had prebooked Kilamanjaro Safari for 9am and got Dinosaur for 12:50 on tapping in.

We had prebooked Navi for 10:15am and got Everest for 5:15.

We had prebooked Kali River for 4pm and we're not park hopping so didn't bother getting another fp.

It worked smoothly, all things considered for a group of 21. I'm most nervous about availability on our Magic Kingdom Day.

I think the new LLMP system would work fine for our family of 4 (usual trips) Easier to refresh for smaller group.

I know this isn't much data, but hope it helps someone.
So your group paid $500 on TOP of your tickets, rode 4 rides (NOT FOP) , and feel that was good? During a down time at AK?

Am I missing something here?

Apologies if already asked I have been reading this thread as best I can.

If staying on site, at you 7 day booking window, are you able to purchase LLMP for your check out day?

Not sure this deserves a reply, but I'll humor you. We were a Group of 21 who wanted to stay together with a special needs baby and 2 small kids who could not ride some rides. Most had never been to WDW and may not ever go again due to cost. We all live in different cities and wanted to enjoy each other's company. We were able to do everything we wanted to without feeling rushed, including a leisurely lunch at Yak & Yeti. We rope dropped FOP and essentially walked on and did baby swap while the rest of the group did Everest with 5 minute wait. Some also rode FOP again at closing with 45 minute wait while others rode Everest 3x with no wait. We ate dinner at Sa'tuli. We saw Nemo show, rode out to Rafikis and did the animation and petting zoo. We took our time, stayed together, and enjoyed the day. Lines were by no means short today. Being able to walk on each ride was priceless to us. My original post was not a trip report, it was a data report to help people with gauging 4th & 5th ride picks in the new system. Don't judge what someone else believes is worth paying for.

Can anyone confirm they can currently make park reservations past August 6th? I have a party of 11 with 3 of us needing them and it won't allow me to select any day after August 6th. Staying onsite AP holder so no reason I can't make them and it just cancelled the lightning lane purchases for 3 of us and kept the other 6.

I really don't understand why SPLLs are selling out so early since that system really hasn't changed. You're now allowed to buy them 7 days in advance but the number of people who want to ride them (theoretically) hasn't changed. They must be holding some passes back? Or more people are buying SPLLs instead of MPLLs?
Could just be the psychology of when you’re paying.

In advance, you’re shelling out hundreds and thousands of dollars. What’s an extra $116 for your family of 4 for MK?

Day-of, you’re in a different mindset. Breakfast was how much? When did Starbucks get so expensive? $80 just to ride one ride?

Could also be the planning/timing advantage. Knowing when 4 of your rides will happen before you arrive.

I just checked, and we have APs and a room reservation in Jan. I could make park reservations for Jan. But I do not have a mixed group like you do. Don't mean to say something you already know, but make sure your park reservations are based on your hotel stay, not just the AP where you might reach a max. Your situation sounds odd - hope you figure it out.

Especially for a group of 21 staying together. That sounds like an improved experience over Genie+.

On the phone with them, its because I have an AP certificate that I'm activating just inside the 365 day window. Only the dates that are within 365 days of me purchasing it are allow me to make park reservations - even though once I redeem it on my stay I'm good for a year. Wasting my time but they will fix it.

Would it make sense to go in and select the LLSP rides for each park and then go back in and do the LLMP rides after that?

Or just do the LLSP rides and then the LLMP rides for a park and move on to a second park?

Does anyone know if APs are restricted to booking initial LLMP only in the park they have a reservation for? I have family joining me late in the day on an upcoming trip and wanted to start my morning in a different park not using LLMP, and book all of our rides together for late in the day. Many thanks!

Before the new system, the answer was obvious: book individual passes last, because they tended to sell out much later in the day (if at all).

Now, it’s too soon to say.

If it were me, I’d grab the multi-pass selections first, especially getting an early time for one of them each park day — to increase my potential options for the 4th selection.

Did the system actually let you make LL purchases for days when there were no park reservations attached?

I booked today. I wanted to make sure I got Tiana so I did LLMP for our MK Day first. Then did our arrival day LLMP for DHS. After that I got 2 LLSP for GotG for 2 different days. I did 10:00ish for both days but earlier was available. I then did a LLSP for FoP also no issue getting a morning time although I wanted an evening slot.

Of course each day/time of year will make a difference. I did it in the order of importance for us.

Question: when this launched, someone mentioned they could not use a gift card to pay for their entire multi pass purchase. They had to use a gift card and a credit (I don’t remember if it was someone here or someone on Reddit).

Does anyone know if this has been fixed? I budgeted with gift cards.

Thanks!😊

You can't start booking new initial LLMP pre-arrival selections until 7 AM. However if you have already purchased your 3 LLMP selections you can start refreshing based on the report by @Jellybean9 basied the Thrill Data analytics. Note this is always subject to change at any time.

I'm still deciding whether to add LLMP next time we visit. This is something I hadn't considered... the ability to refresh and try to get better times (assuming we don't get what we hope for initially) for an entire week before arrival. That certainly seems like it would increase the odds of having an optimal LL schedule.

I already like the prospect of getting LLs pre-booked and not hoping to get something day-of. That peace of mind is definitely worth something to me. Is it worth the price Disney is asking? The jury is still out for me but, fortunately, we've got a while until our trip and will get lots of reports in the meantime to see how availability shakes out.

Being able to tweak, tweak, tweak to refine our LL times (especially before arrival) could be a big plus.

That message was on here. They said you can do everything except for $0.01 on giftcard, and then put the remaining penny on your credit card if you run into any issues. I haven't seen confirmation that it's fixed yet

It appears to be based on whether or not you have a resort reservation, not the ticket type. It doesn't have anything to do with park reservations (again, based on what I've been reading). Even APs don't require park reservations every day with the Good to Go days. If you have a resort reservation, LLMP/SP can be made 7 days in advance plus the length of your stay. If you do not have a Disney resort reservation, LLMP/SP can only be made 3 days in advance. You would not be restricted to which park you enter or make the LL selections.

I did a quick, so I am sure imperfect calculation and if we purchase LLMP and LLSP for each park day it will cost us $710 for the 4 of us (2 will be the only people who go on certain LLSP rides). If we cut it down to once at each park it will be $538. Tax is additional.

In itself that is not a deal breaker however we may cancel some reservations not to save the money but to give us more room and flexibility to fit in selections. It would effectively save us. Looking at cancelling dinner reservation at Flying Fish on an Epcot day and 50's Prime Time on an HS Day. We will either eat QS or go back to BWV for dinner those 2 days

Cancelling reservations is not the end of the world either because 1 adult and 1 child are picky eaters and paying for dinner for the 2 is basically burning money. I will be the only one that will miss trying either place and since I live equal distance between NYC and Philadelphia, I always have the opportunity to find great restaurants outside of WDW.

I would bet making certain changes to offset the LLMP/LLSP costs will be a common situation. Even for people who can afford to not make any cuts.
