Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I'm faced with the dilemma of trying for a VQ for Tiana for our August 20-30th trip, but I think I'll get a LLMP, choose Tiana, and then switch it if I get a VQ on the day of. I'll lose the Tier 1 early selection advantage though - but my concern is... what if they eliminate the VQ between now and then? I will then have lost the advantage of early booking for Tiana... tough decisions. Any historical data on how much lead time they will provide if they eliminate a VQ?
The VQ for Rise of the Resistance ended 9/23/21. I saw articles about it dated 9/16/21, so I think that was the date they announced it.

The VQ for Remy's Ratatouille Adventure ended 1/10/22. I saw articles about it dated 1/6/22, so I think that was the date they announced it.

For references, Rise opened December 2019 and Remy opened October 2021. I don't think Tiana is as popular as those two, so the VQ might end even sooner.

I just did a practice run for today and was able to pull BTMRR, POTC, and HM, with successive hourly return times tonight. There were also some other time slots available when I looked at the modify feature. These did not appear to be cancellations because there were multiple time options available within the hours shown. A couple of very current return times appeared on two of the rides, which I think were probably cancellations. I hope that daily drops/refills are going to be made by Disney, as it did with prior systems.

Agree - likely to see the Tiana VQ ended much sooner. Maybe when the weather gets a little too cool for an outdoor water attraction!

Heck no! Only a few who are already naturally up around that time and others who require no sleep in their lives will find that stupid early on vacation acceptable. It's one thing to wake up at 7am but 5:30am? Forget it.

However, power users can do that early morning modifying during the week prior to arrival, eliminating the need to get up early DURING their vacation.

Over the past few years, I've been 99% successful in getting a BG for the rides with VQs. My back-up plan was to purchase the LL if I didn't get a BG. I agree that the new system puts some additional pressure on us to purchase LLSP a week prior because if you don't get a spot in the VQ, the LLs may be already sold out before you even arrive, so you no longer have that back-up plan.

Not power users in a western time zone 🤣

I'm with @gottalovepluto on this one. Waking up at 4am ONCE was more than enough for me. I got my selections for each park and the first one for each day is within park opening hour. I have two TS meals that moved my 3rd to after lunch for Epcot and MK but I'm fine with that. I wasn't initially planning to stay in the parks for the whole day straight (it's freaking hot and I love the pool) but I might for my Epcot and MK days or least til late afternoon. It will all depend on how I'm feeling that day.
I work remote and am working half day for two of my days so will retreat to the nice icy cold room A/C during the peak heat hours (12pm - 4pm).

This is probably going to be an unpopular viewpoint, but here goes. With every new system, there are going to be positives and negatives. We saw this with Genie+, FastPass+, FastPass...all the way back to paper FastPasses. Some people are going to like certain things that the person next to them dislikes. No one system can please everyone, and no one system is going to check off every box on an individual's wishlist. As always, we will eventually get used to this. And then it will change again, and the cycle will repeat itself lol. But for right now, this is the system we have. So like every time, my plan is to focus on getting used to it and figuring out how to use it to its full potential!
Completely agree. It seems like there is always 360 degree views going in every possible direction when it comes to any change in any thing Disney. Each one of us "do Disney" differently and there will never be a time when people DON'T say such and such is unfair OR how dare they make changes..

The idea of an equal playing field seems totally unrelated to any sort of travel. You choose what you want and what you can pay for. Those who can't afford to buy tickets simply can't enjoy the parks. Those who choose to wait on standby lines have to wait longer with the benefit of saving money.

I have LLMP booked for Friday at DHS. But I really want to try for a TBA VQ. If I change my reservation (AP) to MK will I lose my DHS LLMPs?

I know it's early days for LLMP, but I'm hoping someone has tried it.

It appears to be based on whether or not you have a resort reservation, not the ticket type. It doesn't have anything to do with park reservations (again, based on what I've been reading). Even APs don't require park reservations every day with the Good to Go days. If you have a resort reservation, LLMP/SP can be made 7 days in advance plus the length of your stay. If you do not have a Disney resort reservation, LLMP/SP can only be made 3 days in advance. You would not be restricted to which park you enter or make the LL selections.
Hi - thanks! Most of this stuff I knew, but always good to see it reaffirmed! Ok, the deal is: I have them listed as guests in my room for my whole stay (I will get there several days before they likely can) so I csn make all the LL bookings, but we all have APs and have different park res for their actual arrival day. I was planning to RD AK, then head back to the resort and hang until I meet them to go to MK later :). I want to do as many rides with them as I can, so I wanted to retain all of my LLs for that day for after they arrive. I haven’t heard anything at all about whether park res matter for the groups that (stupidly) still need them.

I've been trying to keep up, but haven't been able to read all the replies- apologies if this has been answered previously!

I can book our 3 advance LLMP tomorrow morning. We have 1 day park hoppers- planning to start at AK and hopping to HS around 11am. I'm planning to select my 3 advance LLMP for HS. If I book one of the Tier 2 rides for 9am (say Muppets- something I know we won't need LLMP for later on) and let it expire after we've tapped into AK, can I book another Tier 1 for HS at 10am? I'm not sure since we won't have tapped into HS by 10am that day.

I'm looking to pre-book RnRC and Toy Story and hoping to get MFSR once we've used/let expired our first LLMP.

Thank you!

You need to tap into the LLMP you booked; letting it expire will not allow you to book a different LLMP, at least that's what the messages and videos have shown us.

I am curious to know what availability is for everyone’s first park day? For on vs off site stays. Especially for Hollywood Studios!

Like….whats the earliest times you are getting for things when it’s the first day of your trip!?

Fwiw the Tiana LL when turned into a multiple experience pass is not valid on other tier 1 rides Link (Some people have seen their Tiana becoming an ME before their trip even starts in that thread.)

There was a ton of confusion on that thread, see later updates by folks

Did the system actually let you make LL purchases for days when there were no park reservations attached?
Yes, selected everything just like the days that did work and just noticed afterwards that I had lost 3 of them on for the last 3 days.

Question: when this launched, someone mentioned they could not use a gift card to pay for their entire multi pass purchase. They had to use a gift card and a credit (I don’t remember if it was someone here or someone on Reddit).

Does anyone know if this has been fixed? I budgeted with gift cards.

Thanks!😊
I paid only with giftcards. I've only one into that issue when buying florida tickets, you need to pay some amount with a credit card with a florida address (I usually do $1)

Someone may have answered this but are we treating this just like hard to get dining reservations...start from the last day of your trip and work backwards? (When dining was hard to get anyway)

Also if you're planning to do that for let's say a 7 day trip...you're doing it all in one shot correct? Get that last day set...work backwards each day assuming you want a pass for each day...then go back and start modifying each day to your heart's content?

I think it's a mix of the above + what park when. So you probably want to book MK first regardless of when it occurs in your visit.

It does kind of suck to be booking in the beginning of this. I book a week from now.

Initially I thought I would book backwards, like you said. But now, I think, the day before I will make sure all of the LLSP I want are still open and that the trend remains that they are open at the 7 day point. (Aug 3 is showing all LLSP still open - I can't see the times, but they are available) Assuming this holds, I will book day 3 MK (Tiana), day 2 DHS (Slinky), Day 6 MK (Tiana), Day 4 DHS - need 5pm or later, Day 7 DHS, Day 8 MK, Day 5 AK, Day 9AK. I will book the entire day. While I am doing that, I will have one of my boys book in their account Day 1 Epcot (Frozen & GOG), and two other days LLSP GOG.

If LLSP are selling out on the 7 day mark, I might make sure all of this gets done first. Maybe I'll grab son #2 and make him buy Tron & FOP LLSP, while son #1 does GOG & Rise.

And yes, I imagine after I book it all, I will have a Bloody Mary (lucky me I book on a Sunday!) and fuss around with the times.

Has anyone heard any reports about people booking for the same group of people, from different accounts, for different days? Has there been any issues of things freezing up? I want at least one of my boys to be booking from his account while I book different days in my account.
