Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Sorry if this has been answered. If you have already prebooked your 3 LLMP's for a future day, and paid... can you go back later (prior to your stay) and try to modify those 3 again before you get to WDW?
Yes you can modify your initial 3 LLMP at any time before you tap into your first selection. However you must respect the Tiers until after you tap in to your first selection.

If you purchased a lower priced LLMP park and then want to change to a higher priced park there have been reports that you are charge the incremental price.

No that puts everyone on-site back to having a 7 AM wake up call every day they want to go to a park!

VQ was designed for "New" attractions and allow everyone an equal opportunity to wait in a Virtual Queue there is no way to support the anytime use. You are just not waiting in a physical slow moving standby queue. Yes Disney has abused the VQ a few times and likely will continue to abuse the purpose of VQs.

Aren’t people just going to be up at 5:30 AM everyday refreshing trying to get better times for their preselects? Per thrilldata it looks like that will be the case. I have a 5-day on property trip in August. I know my preselect options on my 7 day out window are going to be garbage - especially since we only stay in park #1 until about 1:30, take a break, and then park hop. I only want early times. So 5:45 am refreshing it is.

Right but they removed the ability to Stack in LLMP. Think about why they may have made that decision?

Dave
Because they knew inventory was going to be decimated by tripling what people had booked when they walked into the park at 9 am? So there is no ability to stack?

Well that's you option but many average park guests are going into a park day with their 3 initial selections known and only power users will be on at 5:45 refreshing like made trying to optimize their day.

You can still “stack” and much quicker.

I did this yesterday in DHS. Once you tap into your first pick a ride for the PM then do the same with ride 2 and 3. It’s not the 5-6 you could do with G+ but it’s not bad. And if you have a LLSP you can go to your PM park with 4 rides.

Are you really considered a “power user” when you go every few years and are only able to preselect for your MK day barnstormer, philharmagic, and Space Mtn at 6:45 pm? I think desperately refreshing in the middle of the night is a ditch effort to salvage the sh*t options offered to you.

I booked my LLMP this morning for my Aug 3 and 4th park days. I got on at 7 AM and by 7:03 I had both parks (MK and HS) booked with all my ride selections, all with morning times one right after another! I couldn't have been happier with how easy it was! Now to see if I can get more when we are in the park. But I felt better already because with Genie+ it was a good day if you got 3 LL (that is what they say to expect) and even better still if you got them at times that worked with your other plans!

That's not Genie+ stacking. LLMP is just a rolling 3 if there is additional availability.

Dave

You could only stack with G+ if there was availability but you had to pick the time given to you. You couldn’t choose your time.

In a way it’s better with LLMP since you can pick your time each time you book.

Everyone was stacking way before they allowed modifications. I never even experienced G+ after the modify feature was introduced a few months ago.
Modify took stacking to a new level. Average Joes waited to book until the ride they wanted was the time they wanted. Power users knew to book at the 2 hour mark every single time and then modify it as time went along to what they wanted.

Heck no! Only a few who are already naturally up around that time and others who require no sleep in their lives will find that stupid early on vacation acceptable. It's one thing to wake up at 7am but 5:30am? Forget it.

??? The main problem with G+ was that it forced you to wake up at 7am and NOT be able to sleep in. FP+ and this new system helps drastically in that regard. Having said that, those that get to the parks early will ALWAYS get more out of their day, regardless of system... paper FP, FP+, G+ or now LLMP.

Disney will adjust. They need to. When guests are paying for this service they expect more. I just feel bad for those in this initial launch phase who are dealing with the "learning curve" and Disney's adjustments. This is just my crystal ball, but I fully expect most diehard G+ fans to be MPLL fans in the future. I can't wait to maximize this new system.
I don’t think I will be a future fan. Part of it is that I will be (most likely) part of this learning curve. I’m there 8/10 - 8/17. The other part is that I hated Fastpass+. Like, really hated it, and this is a reincarnation of it. Some of the reasons I didn’t like it are resolved with this system, but then new issues crop up.

I will shut up now since this thread isn’t to debate the perceived merits or perceived lack of merits about the program.

I’ve sort of got the answers I need, so I will go back to lurking to see people’s experiences and hopefully contribute when I get back. And while I don’t think I will be a fan, anything is possible. 😊

Thank you to all those providing real time feedback about how it’s working for you.

This sounds so encouraging! My day to book is coming up, so I am glad to hear of your success! Do you mind sharing what rides you were able to secure with LLMP for both parks?

Yeah with modifications I was able to use 7 or 8 LLs at MK on our last trip, many of them stacked for the evening hours with a few used throughout the day. And at the other parks I was able to ride everything that warranted a LL use (rides mostly, not the shows or character meets). The booking ahead is nice for planning ahead for sure but if you are flexible and are very good with the app the old system may have been a bit better. But you may not have to be on the app as much with the new system since you get 3 booked ahead of time now so maybe it's a wash.

My strategy starting out with this new system would probably be to book 1 or 2 rides early in the day to use ASAP to roll into more choices and use the other 2 for evening rides that you would want to ride at night (haunted mansion, tower of terror, slinky dog during the summer if the early morning times are gone, etc. Then use the morning ones, roll them into more choices, while going on short wait time rides or shows or getting breakfast snacks in between when needed. Then once I have ridden a few things, have 3 good evening reservations left and can stop and have a sit down lunch, go back to the resort, or do more shows and low wait time things until the later reservations.

Or if you are wanting to ride as many things ASAP just book them all 3 for morning times and keep riding until done for the day and hope for some lower wait times in the evening for anything you want to re-ride.

Maybe people in this board but 99.9% of people won’t be doing that or even know about it. Most people will be happy with their selections and move on with their day. The majority of Disney goers are not on these boards and don’t know all the ins and outs. They just select their choices and go about their day.

I booked today for my 8/2-11 trip. All my picks were for first thing in the am. My AK picks started at 8:10, and every hour after that was how it populated. It let me modify and bump my 2&3 picks up 5-15 minutes for overlaps. This was the same for all the parks with the first rides starting between 9 and 9:15.

Was that easily done for the first 3 days of your trip?

Why 5:30 or is that not Eastern time?
Actually it was mentioned as 5:45 AM ET !!! to try to catch day of additional drops of LLMP / LLSP inventory may be added to the inventory (LL Drops short hand).

Not the vast majority of guests. Just like a very large % of guests don't really make use of Rope Drop or EE hours. That's why we use it and then leave the park by 1 PM for a break and return after 4 PM.
