I have t shirts for the entire family from Michaels, 2 adult and 2 children -

Plain white, and light blue in all sizes
Yellow and grey in kids sizes and
Lime green in adult sizes.

I want to make something for our upcoming Disney trip - but dont know what???

Supplies I have are the shirts, :laundy:
computer and printer with Iron on Transfer Sheets :surfweb:
fabric paint
an original 1970's rhinestone and stud setter by Ronco!!!
willingess to try!!! :teacher:
and will run to craft store if necessary but want to keep the cost down

tie die kit (have seen the thread on this board for Mikey Heads, but will do that as a last resort )

Please send your ideas and pictures if you have them my way ... popcorn::
thanks :flower3:

Honestly..I've done several styles of shirts--iron-ons, mickey heads & other tie-dyes, air-brushed (paid someone for these) BUT we always get the most positive comments about the Tie Dyes. They just stand out. And they make it so easy to spot each other.

The other issue is that the iron-on transfers even with following all the directions simply to do not hold up through multiple washings (or even the first few). I am a very experienced crafter and the Tie Dye kits are so simple--you don't even have to do the Mickey Head, the kits have several simple ideas on doing different things on different clothing items. Also if you put your first rubber band (along with 1-2 additional ones at this site) very carefully on your basting stitch, you won't need to use a bleach pen.

Good luck in your crafting!

you should check out our Creative DISigns section of the boards, they are a talented bunch with great designs!!

thanks for the info - is there any way to "set" the iron ons???

I didnt even know about using a bleach pen, which really makes this more approachable now! However, I cant tackel this in the winter (it's 20 degrees outside) with a 6 and 4 yr old (the 4 yo nicknamed "the tornado") inside so now look forward to it for the spring- Yahoo!

thanks again and I love crafting so welcome more ideas

so glad you found them - FYI - My husband likes a lot of contrast so for some of the lines I bought a 24 pack of sharpies and after PUTTING A PIECE OF CARDBOARD bewteen the shirt and the other piece of material - so it didnt bleed through to the back of the shirt, I darkend our names, and town and some of the other stuff - you cannot hold the pen on the material or it will bleed so you must keep it moving - it was VERY easy to do and even after a washing they still look great but I did turn them inside out, use woolite and the gentile cycle - then dried on med for a bit then hang dry ~ hope this helps
good luck

Thank you. I clicked on the link on your siggy and realized that it was this same page haha. Tie dye is fun.

Do you have a cricut machine or anyone you know have one?

I am cutting out black fabric mickey heads and using Heat n Bond to iron them on.

I need to work on them soon since I will be leaving in 18 days:woohoo:

I will post a picture when I am done.

I finally did my Tshirts:cool1: It has been a crazy week here in RI with all the rain and flooding, but since we leave in less than two weeks I really needed to get this done.

I made one shirt just for me:

Can you share the link where you got the last one? I LOVE it but am so overwhelmed with the Disign boards and can't find stuff there.

TIA!

You can put ANY word you want and use custom colors, different fonts etc..
It Randomly Generates (you have to take a screen shot and then paste it into your p[aint program, crop then save, unless you have a pdf printer)..
