Hi!

Looking for some recommendations on tasty local places to chow down. Going to be in LA for one full day, and in Santa Monica for lunch time on arrival day. Other days will be in the parks.

Thanks in advance!!!

What are you looking for? Formal, hole-in-the-wall, ethnic? LA is a good food city but it would help if you gave some preferences.

What parts of LA and will you have a car in Anaheim and how far are you willing to go outside of the parks to eat?

We will have a rental car! Mostly around touristy type areas in LA (Griffith Observatory, Walk of Fame) but we will venture out of the way if needed. Its a family of four, a six and seventeen year old... so nothing real high end and fancy. More of a dive, low maintenance type place. I am looking for maybe something seafood-ish around Santa Monica, unless theres something else around there that just shouldnt be missed! Whilst in Anaheim, we probably wont go to far from the parks area, we will probably close them down each day and stay close by.

Marisol on the pier. Bubba Gump has chased away most of the seafood, there's The Lobster, it's expensive, but take a look. The original Hot Dog on a Stick is also just off the pier.

If you go north from the pier through Malibu, Reel Inn, Neptune's Net, or higher end, but Gladstone's for seafood. Also, Duke's and several places at Malibu Country Mart, which is across the street from Malibu Lagoon.

If you'll be near The Grove or La Brea Tar Pits, there's Farmer's Market. Lots of stuff there, but my favorite since I was very young was Tusquellas, which is seafood.

And don't forget In n Out.
