My recommendation would be Chilli's - On the same side & end as Wet 'n' Wild very nice reasonable priced food. We ate there twice last year and enjoyed it both times, the chicken fajita's were lovely:thumbsup2

another vote for chillies. Think we ate there 5 or 6 times in our two week holiday last time

Olive Garden for Italian,
Red Lobster for seafood
the Diner at the Peabody does AMAZING burgers....we shared a starter between five of us (and still didnt finish it), had a burger each and struggled and then had two ice creams between us all, they have a really cool bakery there too that does cookies and pastries and cakes for all occaisions....and if you for lunch you can probably be around when the ducks march through the hotel to/from the fountain :D

Another vote for Friendlys its the closest thing i get to a proper meal not burgers and fries and the milk shakes are gorgeous.

Bahama Breeze and Sweet Tomatoes are our faves :thumbsup2

The one thing that virtually every restaurant in this thread offers is brilliant Value-For-Money. Unlike the shocking prices of some 'on-site' restaurants that can be more than £45 (that's pounds) a head! As a family of 5 we could eat well in most of the I-Drive establishemnts mentioned above for about $45.

On-site, you are paying the "Disney Surcharge"... they can charge this because:
a people will still eat at the restaurants "because they are Disney" (despite being more expensive)
b because many people spend all day and evening at the Disney parks, once you are in, you are pretty much a "captive audience".

It's the same with hotels: you get better hotels quite a lot cheaper off-site, but Disney will never have a problem filling their rooms ;)

Don't you wish that YOU founded the Disney empire? :rotfl:

For a nice meal try Texas de Brazil or a buffet that has not been mentioned is at the north end; Whistlestop Junction.

We stayed on I-Drive last year (for the 3rd time) and some of our favourites are :-

Dan Marino's Home Town Tavern (in Pointe Orlando)
Houlihans (across from Poinet Orlando)
TGI Fridays
Tony Romas

For snacks and a quick eats we liked Friendlys (great Vanilla Malt)

We like Black Angus Steakhouse but my all time favourite is Hard Rock at Universal!!

Claire & Neil

I forgot about the Hard Rock. Great food and it was a lot of fun. If there is a long que you may want to go into the gift shop and inquire about All Access Pass. When we were there it was 20.00 for a pass which came with a Hard Rock backpack, tshirt and several pins. The first use gave us a discount on the bill and the pass gets you head of the line priveliges. People who had been on line for an hour were shocked to see a CM come get us and usher us to a table once we showed our pass. When we finished and left the folks we had been in back of had just got to the front of the line but had not even gone into the dining room yet. I have used it in Boston,Denver,Foxwoods CT and Orlando. You can make PS for Hard Rock on line.

Is Dan Marinos still at Pointe Orlando? We used to love eating there and watching the big sports screens, but when i recently looked at the Pointe Orlando site i couldn't see it on their list of restaurants.

It's being refurbished and will re-open later this year. I can't wait to check out the re-modelled Pointe Orlando.

If you use Virgin Holidays you get a free meal for your party which includes meal, soft drinks and tips and you get priority seating too. You pick your tickets up at the welcome meeting. If you don't want to sit through the meeting, just ask your rep for your Hard Rock pass when you get there.

I'd vote for Friendlies on I-Drive near Austrian Row. Good choice, Great food, Superb service. Click here for a map.
Thanks for posting this, this is my bf's favourite restaurant ever and we have just decided today that we are going to book our next trip soon. So I'm going to send this website to him, he'll love it!

For me Chilies was excellent and my personal favourite-Tony romas.
Thought Race rock was very well done, but food was very average
Hard rock and Nascar were very good Universal CW
