places to eat on I-Drive?

My recommendation would be Chilli's - On the same side & end as Wet 'n' Wild very nice reasonable priced food. We ate there twice last year and enjoyed it both times, the chicken fajita's were lovely:thumbsup2

Darryls & Chicago Uno (next door to each other) just past the junc with Sandlake road
SD :thumbsup2

Ponderosa is ok, at the south end of I drive, especially if you want the convenience of a buffet style restuarant.

Golden Coral, opposite Mcdonalds on the junction of Sand lake and I Drive again opp to Wydham and next to the junction of I4.

Buffetts good value all you can eat, good price, and kids can see what they want and its all included.

Sizzler, Ponderosa, are good, Hard rock at Universal, is just up the road.

I agree about Golden Corral too - I was trying to think of somewhere else but couldn't remember, a few years since we have stayed on I-drive.

I think many of the buffet restaurants like GC and Ponderosa as Andrew says offer good value for money, with the convenience of being buffet service too.

The thing is with kids, they never know what they want, and often, food is different in every country, so they order something and then say they do not like it.

The buffets let them see and choose what they really want and give them a little independance.

for something different instead of buffet(altho golden corral and sizzler are excellent also you can buy the daily mail for 75c in the sizzler if you want a british newspaper) you can also try denny's or perkins.

or for something else there is Race Rock. we tried this this year and the kids loved the cars and theme. the food was ok some reports on here have been that it is excellent, certainly worth trying.

Thanks all - will check them all out :) we're only stopping on I-Drive for 3 nights in total, two on arrival and one on the way home, the rest of our 3 weeks will be down in Cape Coral, wanted to get some ideas for eating on I-Drive as we haven't stayed there before, found a directory listing eateries on the I-Trolley website, might be useful :)

Two favs of ours are Sweet Tomatoes and Cafe Ta Tango.

From what I remember, there is every chain restaurant ever made there. I think the original Olive Garden is there? This year, we're staying off site and doing mostly non Disney so we'll be looking for places too. I guess Charleys is a great place for a steak, they have a Ruths Chris too...can ya tell we're steak eaters?...Its going to be fun trying new places...good luck.

Sadly Darryls closed and is now a Mexican which is a shame as we used to love it there. We like Bennigans (opposite Sheraton World Resort) and Olive Garden (not far from Pointe Orlando on opposite side of road) :thumbsup2

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Bahama Breeze yet. We haven't been ourselves but read loads of great reviews and looking forward to checking it out ourselves in OCtober :)

Another vote for Race Rock

Can recommend eating there for a late lunch/ early eve. We had a late lunch so it wasn't busy & it was easier for the kids to see everything

gc is ace :thumbsup2
also tony romas, the place for ribs, bit more expensive but v very good.
sweet tomatoes is good too. remember not to fill up on the salads as there is all sorts of stuff hidden round the corner, inc the best muffins ever!!
perkins is very nice too

bon apetit! :teeth:

Don Pablos (near Seaworld) has the best white chile and awesome burritos.
Race Rock has excellent burgers and salads.
Olive garden was ok for Italian. It is cheap and they have god soup, salad and breadsticks.
