We may be taking a trip in the near future that will wind up in or around Huntsville, Alabama. I'd LOVE to hear anyone's suggestions for places to eat in or around the city.

Thanks!

Omg, I grew up in huntsville! So much good food. I just got back from a trip down there.

What kind of food are you looking for? Are you staying downtown?

Rosie's Mexican Cantina is a local favorite.

The PoBoy factory is nice for an inexpesnive meal.

Hildegard's and Ol' Heidelburg are good for German cuisine.

There is a great little pizza place downtown called Sam and Greg's.

Connor's Steak and Seafood at Bridgestreet is a really good place to get seafood.

I live in HSV. Here's my suggestions...

Taco Mama in Twickenham Sq across from Publix by HSV Hospital (The Chocolate Bar across from it has good desserts too). The poster above is correct about Little Rosie's. It's very popular in HSV. It's just not that good, imo.

The Boot for pizza/calzones on South Memorial Parkway

Hildegard's German Buffet on University Dr/72 - NOT the one on Whitesburg (there's nothing wrong with that one I just haven't eaten there)

Bridgestreet is a nice shopping/eating/entertainment area - several places to find food. My faves are Kona Grill, BJ's Brewhouse (try the pizookie), and Bravo. There's also a Melting Pot and Texas de Brazil. Both are good but they may not be what you're looking for price-wise.

For BBQ Gibson's is good. There's one on Whitesburg and one on South Memorial Parkway. Try the white sauce.

Downtown by the courthouse Kitchen Commerce and Cotton Row are both nice. Pints and Pixels is fun - it's filled with old video games so you can play Pac Man until your heart is content.

If you like sushi I'd suggest I Love Sushi on Carl T Jones. Also, the sushi place inside Whole Foods is good. I love the pork katsu steamed buns and my hubs always gets a rice bowl.

Next to Whole Foods is a Farm Burger. Delicious. There's also a new sushi place there and a Local Taco. Haven't tried either yet so if you do let me know.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm happy to help if you have any questions.

Rosie's Cantina is awesome but if you are looking for something a little lighter try the Chicken Salad Chick.
