6 more days till our Cruise!!! Super excited. We are flying in a day before our cruise. Any recommendations on where to eat before heading to our hotel? We are staying close to the port. Thanks.

I usually recommend finding places that serve whatever your family considers "comfort food", as they may or may not have it on board.

For us, that means pho, and in Orlando the Vietnamese restaurants are up on the north side of town, and that's where we go.

I know you were looking more for specific places, but I hope this was somewhat helpful as well.

There are lots of places by the airport to eat. On 436 (Semoran Blvd) you will find chain restaurants Carrabas, Bone Fish, Friday's, Panera, and my new favorite Chuy's (Mexican) and many more.

Port Canaverl is about 45 minutes from the airport via the 528 east. It has you typical beach town restaurants non are outstanding. Near the port there are 3 restaurants that you can see the cruise ships pull out . Grill's (best food in my opinion- but can get crazy crowded and have a "bar" type atmosphere) Fish Lips and Milliken's Reef (best view for the ships). We live in Orlando and like to drive over to the port and watch the ships pull out. We will go to Milliken's Reef and have a drink and watch the ships pull out and then go to Grills to eat:)

If you go eat in Disney or the International Dr area it's the opposite way from the port.

We love Vietnamese food! Which one do you like?

My MiL really seemed to like Lac Viet. Said it had some authentic food (she's from Vietnam). I take her word for it on that but the food is quite good.

We liked Pho Saigon as well.

Plan in October is to visit L.A. Boiling Seafood as they have a crab noodle soup that my wife wants to try.

If you go to LA you need to stop by little Saigon in garden grove. I'm from Southern California.

Branos Italian Grill in Cocoa Beach is very good! They are open 11am to 10pm 7 days a week and are located south of Ron Jons on the right. We stumbled aross it Labor Day looking for a non-chain restaurant to eat. The service was great, food was very good and the prices were reasonable.

Good question. They are flying in the night before and staying near then port. So I hope they aren't going to Orlando to eat. As the PP said, it's the opposite way!
