Hi all,
Just one more questions and thanks again for your help! I'm staying at the DL but I'd like to look around and spend some time at the GC; is there a place in the lobby or some other interesting area that I can do work in, do you know? I'll have my tablet with me, so I just want to know if there are readily available charging ports somewhere. Thank you so much again,
Patrick

On the third floor there is a little alcove of a lobby. It has two couch areas and a few little desks and there are charging stations because I did see someone working there last time

There is also a dedicated Club 33 desk. I dream of walking up to it and asking how I can make a dinner reservation. 🤣🤣🤣
Or even just walking up to it just to oooh and ahhh at it

Exactly. Spaced the proper name of which to call it!
Interesting. Never knew that, but it makes sense, given that club members are entitled to a number of perks that go beyond making meal reservations (which they can do from anywhere by phone or maybe online).

This is exactly what I need, thank you so much! And boy do I wish I could get into Club 33 too!

If you are not staying at the GCH, you may not be able to access that area. We stay there every year, and this year (Labor Day weekend), we were asked for the first time to show our room keys to be allowed on the elevators. Others on these boards have reported the same thing in recent months. You can enter the main lobby without a room key, but you may not be able to access the other floors without one.

Ok, thank you for letting me know! That’s no problem, as long as there is a space in the main lobby that will work fine for me. I’m not worried about the lobby noise, I work on kind of busy places all the time. Is it only elevator access to the third floor?

Oh, I think I misread and assumed the OP was actually staying at the Grand.

I think that is correct and they have not been letting people up without showing a key.

No, there are stairs too

Yes, I’m at DLH! But it sounds like the main lobby is open to everyone?
Yes, though it can be busy and noisy.

Another thing you could check out is upstairs around the convention area of DLH. There are lots of places up there that are likely to be pretty quiet (at least they have been when I've gone). There's also lots of cool art up there and I rarely see more than a handful of people unless there is an event. I don't know how it would suit as a place to work as I've never paid attention to it from that standpoint

There are other places to work inside the parks. Are you looking for the hotel lobby for a reason (ex. wifi)?
Oh, not really. I'd love to work inside the parks actually, but yes, WiFi would be a concern, and my little tablet doesn't hold a charge for long, so I'd like to make sure I have an outlet handy, it would just be convenient.

Oh, those are great suggestions, thank you! I'll keep those in mind! I think I like the proximity of the GC but I'll think about all of these. Thanks again.

You might look into purchasing a Fuel Rod on Amazon before your trip. They are much cheaper on Amazon than they are at airports or in the parks. There are multiple Fuel Rod free exchange kiosks throughout DLR.

If you don't need quiet, my favorite spot is upstairs in Golden Horseshoe. It is usually pretty empty, and it is air conditioned. Other popular locations for people to get work done are the Hungry Bear Barbecue patio (I like the top in the back) and Tom Sawyer's Island. Hungry Bear is more noisy and can get crowded during meal times. Tom Sawyer's Island has picnic tables. It is serene but doesn't have back support if you need it. There is a boat dock across from the Matterhorn. I see a lot of people sitting at the end of the dock with their laptops. You will most likely have Small World/Fantasyland music in the background so it wouldn't be the best if you were on a zoom meeting.

LOL, the OP might want to make sure he/she has a headset and a background photo of an office! "Disneyland? No, I'm not at Disneyland. What makes you think that?"...as submarines and monorail trains go by in the background...
