Places for a birthday dinner other than Le Cellier?

It will be the fiance's 29th birthday on the 8th. I have a spot reserved at Le Cellier but knowing what Le Cel costs (hey you're only there once a year you need an appetizer, and a bottle of wine, and dessert right?)

I was wondering what other options there were that are romantic / not as expensive as Le Cel?

Suggestions?

I think you will find Le Cellier priced in line with the majority of the other restaurants as far as app's, dessert, and wine.

The big difference will be seen in the entree, but even Le Cellier will have an entree or two at a lower price.

But, as far as other's go I would consider Via Napoli, or Teppan Edo.

If you're a fan of Japanese food and culture, we really enjoyed Tokyo Dining. Artist Point is our hands down 'romantic' favorite, but I think it's even pricier than Le Cellier. Although, if you're going with Le Cellier, I'd honestly consider AP instead. I think Le Cellier is a lot of hype, and the food isn't as good. At least at AP, you have a wonderful ambience that is much less rushed than at Le Cellier because the turnover isn't nearly as fast. The food is delicious, and it changes seasonally based on availability so there are always unique, fresh options.

Not sure how the food is, but the TS inside the Mexico Pavilion looks romantic and the food LOOKS and smells good. Not sure on the taste though.

Most of the restaurants that come into mind when thinking romantic are indeed signature restaurants (just as Le Cellier is for dinner), so they won't be more affordable.

I think Tokyo Dining and San Angel Inn are good suggestions. Another one might be Restaurant Marrakesh - I haven't eaten there, but it looks very elegant and finally Coral Reef is quite a nice spot in Epcot as well. At the resorts I could imagine the Grand Floridian Cafe or Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club being slightly more romantic than the average WDW restaurant. But once again no personal experience with them.

Personally the tables are too close at Le Cellier.

I would go somewhere where maybe you are not on top of your neighbor or somewhere with a view... unfortunately, seems they really cluster tables nowadays in Disney, so go for the ambiance / view.

I've never eaten at either of the restaurants in Mexico, but photos of the interior look nice. Otherwise, maybe do appetizers at California Grill. What about Sanaa... if you could get a window seat looking at the animals, that'd be nice.

For straight up yummy food, we are looking forward to dinner at Flying Fish.

I don't know if you've been to Le Cellier before but I wouldn't describe it as romantic, it's extremely loud and you're practically on your neighbor's lap. It's even worse at Le Chefs de France. I would suggest Tutto Italia. And I've never been there but what about Victoria and Albert's?

Personally I would call LE cellier, via Napoli and teppan edo the most unromantic in epcot!

The place Mexico san angel is not too pricey and has atmosphere.

The more romantic are going to be signature. Do you like sushi? if you order some smaller plates ( sushi, salads, flatbreads) at Cali grill to share you could have a very filling meal wihtout the expense of entrees.

You could always try the Yachtsman. I dont have anything bad to say about that place other than its not cheaper at all.

ITA-----LC isn't romantic at all!!! I like Chefs--a window table is fun to sit at and watch the world go by--or perhaps check out the menu at Bistro de Paris---it gets rave reviews and is a bit more upscale.

I AGREE, agree, and agree again, the tables are way to close together at Le-cellier, it's way too dark, and the check in service is not good, you would not be happy with that choice.
