Placeholder question

Let me start off by saying I’m a rule follower so if this isn’t allowed I’d not do it.

I currently do not have a placeholder room because it’s been too long since we’ve sailed. I’m 95% sure we are sailing in summer 2019.

I’ve a friend who is sailing in two weeks and is planning to book a placeholder for herself. If she does one for me too, do I have to eventually sail on same cruise as her to take advantage of the discount or not? She and I eventually will both sail but not together in all likelyhood.

Will it work and is it allowed?

Both staterooms must cruise on the same future date to retain the OBB benefits.
